Sticky Rice With Mango or Khao Neaw Mamuang in Thai is arguably the most famous dessert in Thailand. This dessert is rich with coconut infused glutinous rice and the natural sweetness of Thai mangoes. A great dessert to finish with any Thai meal. So, if you are going to try making this dessert, then, I’d recommend you use the “Nam Dawk Mai” mango variety which are in season now.
Ingredients
2 Large Ripe Mangoes (sliced or diced)
1 Cup/225grams Glutinous Rice, soaked overnight & drained
3/4 Cup Coconut Milk
1 tsp Sea Salt
3 to 4 Tbsp of Cane Sugar
2 Pandan Leaves, knotted
Toasted Mung Beans, optional
Coconut Cream
1/2 Cup Coconut Milk
1 Tbsp Cane Sugar
1 1/2 tsp Corn Starch
A Pinch of Sea Salt

I love that fact that thai people are in love with their glutinous rice and when I was in Thailand, I was awe struck by the glutinuous rice and durian combination. I looked up this recipe after having the same dessert at a thai vegetarian restraurant here in KL. Thank you for sharing. :) It's completely vegan too, yea. no milk. just good ol' coconut.

Thanks for the comment. Yes, Thai people love their glutinous rice. In general most people in SE Asia eat a lot of the rice too. We like to make dessert, snacks, pastries (Kuih) and for savoury dishes too.

I followed your recipe :) didn't have corn flour used plain flour with some water. The rice n the sauce taste amazing. Used a steamer no cloth also

Quick question! Do you make two batches of coconut cream? One for the rice and then one to drizzle over at the end?

No, only 1 batch of coconut cream, for topping/drizzle. For the rice, just use coconut milk without corn starch. Do check the description box for detailed recipe. Thanks.

hi here . 1) if I do not have glutinous rice can I use normal rice grain ? 2) other than sea salt can I use normal salt ?

I'm afraid you need glutinous rice for this recipe, no subs. Yes, you can use normal salt, adjust accordingly.
