At the Austrian Grand Prix you normally can buy a pitwalk ticket for around 10€ so it's very very affordable. It's limited and you gotta buy it pretty fast when it's released since it's gonna sell out in around a day but it's 100% worth it. I did it two years ago and I got to do the pitwalk around a busy time and could watch all the teams practice pitstops/work on their cars up close. Also we were allowed to walk around a part of the track and just chill there for over an hour and it was a great photo opportunity. Even got to see/meet both Sebastian Vettel and Carlos Sainz at that pitwalk. It was absolutely amazing and I 100% can understand what you mean by chasing that hype for the rest of your life.

As someone who has lived near Suzuka for the last 10ish years, going there by public transport can be a lot even as a "local", kudos. Japanese fans have a whole other reverence for their favorite players, singers, etc. They get worshipped like gods with their own merch and everything! I heard stories of people traveling across the country to see their biases, or in the case of Ohtani, across the ocean. But overall, Japanese fans are truly the best. I've had the best times at sports games, festivals and concerts in Japan. Honda is huge in Suzuka, with the factory and the rugby team. The Honda hate is insane to me, but I don't know much about F1 granted. It's crazy anyone would use that as an insult.

The Suzuka circuit is amazing…i had the chance to go in 2016, and i had tickets at the Dunlop curves. Honestly one of the best circuits on the calendar. One of the bonuses of having a general ticket is that on the Thursday you get pit lane access. I think i spent a good 3 HOURS there…it was absolutely fantastic and i met so many wonderful Japanese fans. After the race, i walked all the way around the track to the last corner before making my way off. Hot tip - if you stay in Yokkachi, its easier to get to the track. You also need to go to Shikoku station and catch the shuttle bus or you can walk to the circuit. Thankfully i had friends who had gone and said to stay there instead, because Nagoya is a good hour away on the train…not so fun after a whole day at the track. Whenever anyone asks which track they should go to, i hands down always say Suzuka. (Ps. Woooo mclaren fan here too! And i need that Suzuka steering wheel pillow in my life!)
