Thank you so much for sharing your life with us. My husband Herbie and I enjoy them. He was diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer a little over a year ago. We are keeping you in our prayers as well.

Same type of weather we experience. Sounds like food poisoning from those symptoms, it hits hard, always good to keep your water intake up as dehydration is another as you say it has similar symptoms. LOL 😂, about the cobra, it’s also not for the faint hearted here you have to watch the 🐨they are vicious 😂😂. Hopefully you enjoyed the rest of your glamping 😊. Prayers 🙏🏻.

Heat stroke is a real thing .I think that was a strong possibility.Im glad you know the difference of glamping vs camping.lol.That heat can be a real killer. The older we get the less we can deal with that . Your not a spring chicken anymore.

Looks like fun. Terrible that you got sick instead of being able to enjoy the totality of your time, but you recovered quickly! You have wisdom. You'll part with what you need to when the time comes. Otherwise, enjoy what the Lord has blessed you with. I think that's what the stuff of life is all about, anyway. 🙂 Be encouraged and blessed. RHDF!!!

Packed up my bike and went tent camping last week. There were more than I few times where I would take a shower. Walk back to my tent and be sweating. I think the hottest I rode in over the years was about 115 degrees. I can't remember if I was in Death Vally or Scottsdale. But that was miserable. Along with food poisoning you may have had heat exhaustion too like ya said.

Sorry you got sick Itchy but glad you were able to salvage the weekend. Food poisoning can be nasty. I will tell you a little story. A few weeks ago my wife made bean soup for supper. Later she went to bed and I forgot to put the soup in the refrigerator. The next morning she told me I left it out all night and she put it in the refrigerator but she wasn't eating any of it but I could if I wanted to. I did for supper and that night I visited the bathroom until I had nothing left to give. I didn't feel good the next day. Not so quick to do that again. A couple days later I went to an auction. They had an old panhead chopper that I wanted to see how much it sold for. In the afternoon I was standing around talking to an old classmate when I began to get really sick and dizzy. I have had heat exhaustion before so that is what it felt like. I called my son to take me home but changed my mind and decided to go to the Hospital throwing up along the way. When I got there they asked me about my symptoms and some other questions. I wasn't answering some of there questions so they began to suspect that maybe I was having a mini stroke. I spent the night and have since had an MRA and an MRE But they didn't find anything. So hopefully it was just heat exhaustion. It was only about 74 degrees that day But I didn't drink any water and was standing in the sun that afternoon. In about 2 minutes time I went from feeling fine to feeling horrible. Just that fast, So hopefully Itchy you drank plenty of fluids after your bout with food poisoning so you didn't get to dehydrated. With that heat you are having It can get you pretty quickly. Riding motorcycle in that heat can also do it. Sadly age is a factor also. Ride safe drink water.

Mark, I too was camping 2 days and you are right, it was so hot. I was in a tent, a nice tent but a tent. Day two I did a little off roading in the morning but it was miserable hot and I just sweat the whole time. I decided I was getting dehydrated so I found a shady camp site and laid in my hammock the rest of the day. Still glad I went, glad you are feeling better.

While I have never met you or Val here’s some advice and course you are free to do anything you want, but you can always take a trip out west or whatever Val’s dreams were as a tribute to her. My grandfather passed before I was born and him and my grandmother planned on touring the world when he retired from Goodyear Aerospace. He passed due to a massive stroke. My grandmother did travel the world.

Mark, Nice to get out campin' when the weather is on your side. That was my situation last week and now after 3 days this week of a heatwave here in Massachusetts it finally broke., still warm tho. I have to admire the way they setup the campground you're at. Most of them in this area crowd you too close. But I see they give y'all plenty of space around & between sites. More & more of these corporate owned campgrounds just want to squeeze every inch to get every penny from campers. Glad to see you got all that stuff out of your system. It's no fun being sick when you're supposed to be having a good time campin' . thanx. .

Hello, I took the Harley out for a ride and didn't think it would be to bad , was I ever wrong took water with me this time as long as you were moving it was fair but got stuck in road work and had to set and wait for about 15mins on that bike and the heat coming off the road was hot and I had shut the bike off so it wouldn't over heat , but I was soaked , and I drank my half gallon of water dang fast lol, when I got back home grilled up some tbone steaks and chilled the rest of the nite , woke up Saturday with a pounding head from the heat and was going to go to a fish fry decided to stay home it was hot again , but looks like summer is here and I have things to do in this heat lol be safe and take care

I am debating whether to buy one or not. I have a lake house which is great, it’s just that I want to explore more. If you ever need a getaway on your bike and want a place to stay while you relax and explore let me know as your welcome to stay at one of my cabins. Maybe we could go for a ride if I’m there.

I would like to have a small RV but like you its just me so yeah I dunno. I have a couple nice tents and airbeds etc. AC would be nice. I say if you enjoy it keep it especially with the memories you have. Its easy to get rid of but not easy to buy toys. I sold a Jeep years ago and sometimes I wish I still had it but the prices are just nuts. Anyway God Bless.

Itchy, glad you got away to get some camping. Always something surreal to be amongst nature. Hey I was thinking the same and leaning more towards food poisoning. They always say count back 6 hours to see what you were eating, and chances are good you can nail down something that had spoiled or heat got to it. Although I nearly lost a buddy to heat stroke/heat exhaustion riding years ago. He was not used to the heat as I was. I warned him about pounding water, electrolytes, whether you feel thirsty or not, and suggested he start hydrating at least an hour before we got out on this long days ride we had before us. I also told him if you wait until you’re thirsty, it’s too late, you’ll never get hydrated. He didn’t listen, got destroyed on the ride, dry heaving off the side of his bike about every 10 miles it seemed for about a 350 mile ride. Got pretty dangerous for him, no where to take cover, until we found a convenience store 50 miles from home. We stood inside for close to an hour in the AC. Sip a Gatorade, as he’d been unable to hold fluids or food all day. Made it the last 50 miles, he took a cold shower and went straight to bed in the guest room, he must have slept 12 hours straight or so.
