Well, hey, friend Sharmon! I'm so happy you had a wonderful day. I can see why you had a hard time picking favs. I must say that the white-ish conch with the purple lip has to be my most favorite of your finds today. So happy you found that huge lightning whelk for a planter. SO impressive. I loved all the cones and the nutmegs. The bigger the shell and the more beads the better I like them. Have to say the dinosaur toy brought back memories. When I was a kid in the sixties, I collected all kinds of plastic dinosaurs and played with them. I had quite a lot. Well, Keewaydin did not disappoint! What a day! I'm glad you were able to make such a memory and bring home so many mementos from it. Have a great week!

I had to freeze the video at 17:46 cause i swear i saw a crown conk and yep. Upper right quadrant spikey, striped and purplish.❤ Sometimes i wish i could reach through the screen and grab the shells. Theyre all so pretty!❤ Guess I'll have to shell vicariously through your videos. We dont get such exotic shells up in the PNW. Their pretty in their own way. But very muted when it comes to color.

If all shelling days were like this, I think we'd value them less. It's the slower days that really make you appreciate these incredible days (when they do happen). Also, it looks like you missed a nice kings crown conch (17:42 - 17:45) :P

What a day!!! I think "Gaudy Nautica" may come from the genus name, Naticidae. I heard another sheller pronounce it "Gaudy Natica" ("nat" like "gnat"), and I made the connection.

The horseshoe crab been around since before the dinosaurs, don't forget them. I have not seen that many alphabet cones in one persons haul before, congrats. You have an excellent eye Sharmon. I have not been shark tooth hunting because the daughter I normally go with is pregnant (YAY new grandbaby) and was suffering with morning nausea. It has also been too cold for me, I had sleet freeze the blades of my HVAC condenser and I live in Florida too. Thanks so much, I hope you have a wonderful morning on Kice Island.

So these Gottinaticus, that you were finding today, think in my mind, the ones that are those colors with the rich Brown and a little zigzag, looking thing to me that looks like little lightning strikes, I would say, that's a lightning sharkeye, or a lightning nautica, I think. It looks like lightning. It's so cool. I don't know if you've ever thought about it in that way, but I do every time you find one of those Rich colored things. Gottinaticus
