I lived in an RV and traveled with my partner for 10 years. I love all my shells and couldn't bear to part with any. I have them in various thrift glass pieces too. I especially love the teeny tiny ones that are so perfect. It's hard to imagine that they survive washing up on the beach. Thanks for sharing.

Collection, obsession 😍. Please restrain from taking the conk shells from the waters. When one animal outgrows his shell, it becomes a home to the next, smaller conk. These shells are often protected by government. The Bahamas will not let you leave their islands with them. You have worked so very hard and enjoy the beaches, maybe you could share some of your time and love ❤️ for the area you live in working with educational programs for children and tourists. Born in Florida, we always say take a few fo memories, leave the rest.

@@SWFBeachLife didn't answer her question... Just like the vid didn't show much more than your collection in jars. Whoopee.. who doesn't have a collection of shells? This is what they call "CLICK BAIT". Wasted my time..

Thank you for sharing your passion with us. I am a newbie at this but I'd like to immortalize my mother's collection over her many years (mostly Florida, Miam, and perhaps Cuba, Bermuda, etc.). Has anyone had experience with encasing them in clear epoxy? Right now, they are in clear plastic containers (mostly), so the shells are not exactly reflecting their natural beauty. I also have mini spoon collection, which I inherited from my mother and Bermuda sand (I spend a year there), which can be added to the mix. Any advice is welcomed! Thanks in advance! Rene🙏
@spaced1298Ай бұрын
I don’t think this was”clickbait” at all…. She definitely showed all the things she does with her shells, including her joy and obsession with just loving and admiring them. Were you expecting a seminar on “ how to make big bucks collecting and crafting shells”? It only takes one video to know that’s not her focus…She is the rare soul who truly sees and appreciates the wonders of nature.

Your organization of your shell collection is admirable. When we started collecting shells on our visits to various Florida beaches we would use any glass container we had. We would include a note telling which beach the shells came from and the date we were there. Then when we started visiting Sanibel and the beaches between St Pete Beach and Clearwater Beach we started using candle jars, like the Yankee Candle large jars and 3 wick jars. We now have close to 20 candle jars and about 8 other glass containers (including an old milk bottle) full of shells, as well as a display on a hutch in our family room. Displaying shells in glass containers allows us to see and reminisce our trips to the beaches and the gifts from the sea.

I've reused some of those candle holders too - the lids are handy as you don't have to dust the shells off again!

Hi! A friend and I made it to Turner beach Friday morning at sunrise. The waves were good size and they were bringing in shells like crazy. I stayed next to the jetty the whole time and let the ocean bring me shells. I ended up with a half dozen whole flats, the same number of alphabet cones, along with 2 nice junonia pieces and …. A Junonia!! I’m still in shock! It’s 3 inches long and the aperture is almost perfect. The only thing missing is the very tip of the tip. Thank you for all your videos and information. Plus I have helped many others learn about shells because of your great tutorials. 😎🐬🌴

So I anxiously look forward to our next walk on the beach.

I’m slowly redoing our master suite bathroom into my bathroom. It’s not a big bathroom but I do have a lot of counter space, which is great. I’m redoing our bedroom as well because keeping it the same way is too painful because everything reminds me of my late husband who passed away 06/21. So the bathroom is going from a Paris bathroom to an ocean bathroom. We’ve always had shells because we love the ocean and being right near the Pacific Ocean, I keep what I find when we’d go to the beach. At our local thrift store I found a couple of big shells so they came home with me and then at another thrift store I found 3 bags full of shells, so they came home with me. I was soooo happy when I got home I’ll tellYa. What gets me is that I was at Winners/TJ Max and found an oblong wooden tray just like yours!!! I could believe that we both bought the tray to display shells!! So cool!! Once I have it all done up I’ll share with you what it looks like. I want a jar of Rose Petal Tellin in it too since pink is my favourite colour. Thanks for the surprise visit to your place!! I’ve enjoyed see what you’ve done!! How’s your backyard looking? Is the pool area all fixed now? Take care and see you on Sunday!!😍😍🥰🥰💖💖🐬🐬

Someone made a comment about making a jar of those rose petal tellins, so that's exactly what I'm going to do. That would look so pretty! And I know exactly what you mean about being happy about brining shells home. I got to find the shells and film them, clean them, see them again in my video, see them again when I put them away. I just love messing around with all these ocean treasures! We finally ground down the stump on a huge tree that the hurricane knocked down. We're pretty much back to normal here but the beaches are still quite a mess. ❤️ PS - sorry for you loss beach friend.

@@SWFBeachLife Thanks Sharmon. I find that if I surround myself with thing I love, like a beach vibe, it takes my mind off what I’m missing. We both loved the beach so much, so I can’t wait to get going again!! Yes I remember the tree that fell over. So happy to hear things are back to normal, but I think the beaches and area are going to take a little time yet. See you Sunday!!🥰🐬

Awesome collection! Have checked out your Etsy shop. Great stuff! Would love to see sets of the same type of shell for sale. I would love to scoop up some of those gorgeous scallops! Just a thought. Love all your videos!

I am going to do that - and some with the tinies and their bigger versions. Hopefully I can get more shells up on the store quickly! I'll make sure scallops is one of the collections!

That's a LOT of shells. I beachcomb or rockhound for pebbles but I don't keep them all as I would be overrun. Cheers from Canada!

I'm starting to have a much better appreciation for the tiny shells!

Beautiful. I cannot wait to get back down their. I'm doing a family trip soon and they chose Siesta Key. Not been there but close. No shell comparison. 😞

I thought I had a collection. Yours is awesome and much better than mine. I too have a shell frame that I did and would like to add a mirror to it. I used to do frames as well.

I am getting ready to do another shell frame. I think they are just so beautiful!

Beautiful collection! I'm going to get my collection out and look at them now, again. ;-) I'm a new subscriber, in Texas, north of Dallas, so not close to beach, darn it! But, I have some from east coast Florida when I was 10 or 11, 60 years ago!

Thanx for the share. I just started putting my shells in glass too and trying to find creative ways to store and share them! You forgot the bubble gum machine if you still have it.

ACK! Yes, I do have the bubble gum machine still. Just yesterday I thought it was time to switch the shells out. I always forget something 😂

You have some beautiful shells. I spend time at the beach in northern Portugal and there are no shells just smooth round stones in different colors that I collect and display in various places. I wonder why there are no shells here.

No shells because there are no creatures that make the shells there. Your rocks sound pretty awesome though. I think the next best thing to shells is rocks 🐚
