Thanks Sharmon, I love tiny shells!! Awesome walk, surf a bit louder, very soothing. Worm snails are super neat, all different! I used sand dollar doves as birds in the sky when decorating other sand dollars. I would make a palm tree out of green sea glass and a piece of driftwood and put a couple super tiny scallops on sand at the base of the tree. Tada, beach scene. I made some money off them and other shell pictures for a few years.

By the way, I keep forgetting to comment on your lovely diamond anniversary band. It sparkles so brightly in the tropical sun! My anniversary band has rubies, as he said that my worth is far above rubies. Memories 😢. Aren't marginellas sort of related to cowries? Crown Conchs, Heaven in the Mud! There's the name for a book on those! Wow! That's a ginormous Crown Conch! I wonder how old he or she is? I love the beach time! It reminds me that somewhere in the world, there is a sea washing itself out on a beach. I love the skimmers, too! They're so amazing! Thanks for the doves, too! Lord knows the world needs peace! What a great way to end my day, with a video from you, dear friend! I pray that all your days are as peaceful and as much fun for you! Much love to all my beachy friends and to you, dear Beach Angel! If you see a group of skimmers by the water, please try to go around them. If you walk through them, it disturbs their nesting behaviors to the extent they might abandon the area.
@gingermackeen57416 ай бұрын
Thanks for IDing the crown conch egg casings. Found some of those the other day and forgot to look them up. They're not as common as the others. Fun to watch those guys! They were everywhere in the mud! Surprised there weren't hermits in some of those. Lol another turrid!😊 Great seeing the skimmer video on my TV - much better than the phone!😁 Didn't know about the nesting issues. Saw hundreds of them one time at Lido Key during nesting season. Beach was marked off for them. Thanks Sharmon! xxoo
@SWFBeachLife6 ай бұрын
Thanks for helping me show people how those fabulous birds skim. In my Florida Master Naturalist class, in one of our field trips to the beach, a woman over seeing nesting birds said she's watching the demise of some of these sea birds. If they don't have nesting places, they're done. That's why it's so important to keep dogs on leashes. Even a storm with a higher than normal tide can wash out the nests that are right on the sand. It's a real bummer but hopefully they will persevere! Nature can be amazing like that.

Ahhh, Sharmon...I sure wish I'd known a long time ago the information that you gave tonight about the jingles. It took me a couple of years of collecting them (and I'd found a fair number of hinged ones) before I realized that there wasn't a corresponding outer shell on the other side of the bottom valve! I love so many shells, and even though they're pretty common, I do LOVE jingles!
@SWFBeachLife6 ай бұрын
It's funny that my favorite shell is one that is also very common, because there are other common shells that just don't appeal to me. It's interesting how that works! Jingles appeal to me, but I don't always pick them up. They're more of a, "while I'm down here I'll grab a few" type of shell 😂
