M15 has taken a lot of hits over the past few years. However, he keeps coming back to defend the nest. After watching him raise the eaglets by himself a couple years ago, he has proven to be a loyal companion and partner.

M -15 stands almost 3' high--F 23 stands over 3'---GHO stands 15-17 " tall. GHO pulled up some to strike M-15 flat on his chest. Very unlikely for GHO to hurt a BE except if it hit an eye of an Adult Eagle ,as Eagles need both eyes functional to hunt prey--and on rare occasions fight(mainly) other BE's GHO attack looks bad but it's only a warning shot over shared horse pasture territory--as the OWL resents the Eagle nest and it's growing E's which the OWL may feel in a few months(or soon) may attack it's own Owlets and carry them off. fully grown E's are large enough in daylight to try something against smaller growing owls just learning to fly. This Nest has a history of not delivering owlets as prey by Adults or fledged Eaglets. Fish is the main food provided here, thankfully. Oh NO not the owls!!! That was an incredibly hard hit. So grateful M15 and the rest of the family are okay. Please mom and dad don’t leave the babies alone at night for even a minute, it’s too dangerous! Please owls go away and leave our Eagles alone. Thank you Lady Hawk this is so upsetting. My biggest fear are the owls. Things have been so peaceful at night and now it starts. ❤😳

Darn, I was really hoping the GHO's left the immediate area because they needed to find a new nest this year. I guess they didn't go far, they are like big, feathered bullets in the night. I'm glad M is okay!

Those owls had me so stressed when our beloved M was raising his two babies alone that I was literally losing sleep. I've been wondering when this would start. M and F will be alert now but it's always scary to see.

@maureenebrogan5874 I agfee, it was hard to watch when M15 was solo raising the eaglets. He was provider and protector and did an excellent job, but I'm glad he has F23 to share those duties with. It's nature, but I have difficulty with the owl threat and hope they all remain safe and not injured.

This is the hardest part of every nest season. I love our eagles and beautiful owls, too. This is their world, and this is the nature of it. Very, very hard on the nerves and heart. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️🦅❤️

They’re doing the same in Kansas. An owl was exercising every other night by knocking off Wichita and Sheynne who were small at the beginning of last summer there. Terrible.
