SWFL Eagles ~ HEARTBREAKING NEWS! E24 SHOWS SIGNS OF DISTRESS BEFORE PASSING AWAY SUDDENLY 💔 1.26.25

NEW UPDATE Jan 27th 2025 Crow and local wildlife officials have made the decision to retrieve and necropsy E24 remains. We will be turning the cameras off when they do the retrieval. As soon as we have more information we will share it here. Thank you all for your continued support of our Eagle family. From SWFEC banner Jan 26th 2025 : "We are devastated to post E24 passed away suddenly this evening in the nest. Showing signs of distress just a few minutes prior to passing (6:41pm), we have no concrete information beyond what was observed on the cameras. We do not want to speculate or provide inaccurate information about possible causes of death but will reach out to local wildlife officials to decide next steps and a possible necropsy. E25 appears to be ok and sleeping at this time. We appreciate the concern of Eagle nation and all viewers. Because of the timing no action is able to be taken and we will share information as we get it." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Our hearts are heavy, with this sudden loss of E24. As mentioned on the banner, we don't know what caused E24 to suddenly pass away and don't want to speculate on the cause of death. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Pritchett family and the entire SWFL mod team and viewers. Never did I imagine we would lose E24 like this & my heart is broken. E24, your candle burned brightly for 43 days on earth and it lit up the skies & filled all our hearts with such love & joy. 💕 E24 you are the brightest star in the heavens right now - you will never be forgotten. @SequinedSeahorse As many peopke already know, E25 died in the middle of the night. The Crow Wildlife group retrieved his body, as he had fallen out of the nest. Someone mentioned on Facebook that the culprit could have been lead. Let's continue to pray that M15 and F23 stay well. 🙏🏻💔

It's pretty clear to me when E24 started to begin to have trouble breathing that E25 removed quite a bit of fluff around E24's head. It appeared to be an effort to help E24 breathe better. They were both so sweet together.

@@ladyhawkI pray CROW gets involved. Makes me wonder if a fish hook, or fishbone from self feeding, man had involvement. I dislike it’s always comes back “circle of life and it’s nature”. But, he or she looked fine. Maybe Florida wildlife need to have stricter hunting and fishing laws when you renew licenses or get an initial License, along with mandated classes to show what carelessness does to our precious wild life. I was so happy yesterday , my Philadelphia Eagles won and then I see this actual Posting about E24, short time after the game. I really hope CROW does an necropsy. E24 looked very healthy and if any issues out of the egg would have happened soon after hatching. Crow can use this experience to educate people and to advance veterinarian care with Technology to ensure our most precious wildlife never becomes extinct due to our negligence as humans.

I am beyond heartbroken to see and hear this. These two were so close to each other unlike the others have been. They stayed together even at the end which is again so heartbreaking. I'm so upset like all here. It is so distressing to see this when we know there's nothing we can do to help. This was difficult to watch. I am so devastated when I went to the live cam update to check to see anything about the days info and that is what I saw. That E24 had passed and it just shocked me.😢💔🐥🙏. I sure do pray for E25 cause he/she has been staying by its deceased siblings side all night and when I went back to rewatch what I’d missed I saw that E25 was quite concerned about its sibling and looked like it was actually consoling 24 in his/her own sibling kinda way and it was touching but I then right there felt so helpless cause I could t do anything.😢😢. But anyway, I do hope that Fish and Wildlife wants to do something to help in a kind and gentle way to get E24 out of the nest while E25 is still there. @ Afternoon my friend Lady Hawk ❤️🙏. Do hope you’re doing well and had a good day too? I’m doing pretty good here and had a real good dialysis this morning too which made me happy.😁👍🏻. I’m just curious to know if you’ve heard anything on if or what will be happening to the body of E24 or are they gonna make us all be tortured by wanting to see E25 and see E24’s dead body in the nest the rest or the season? Have you been able to see or know if E25 has been taken care of by mom and dad today too? I’ve had two people message me about E25 not getting fed or being fed very little and not having a crop big enough to survive and I told them that I really didn’t think that M&F would desert their living Eaglet and let it to die too. It just doesn’t seem like them to do that. I only told them what I felt in my heart to say about mom and dad being great parents and they would make sure the Eaglet would be taken care of. I’ve been on other cams and everyone is talking about E24 and concerned about E25 now too. It’s hard for me to deal with this stress and I cried a couple times at dialysis this morning cause I would see something about an animal on tv and that’s all it pretty much takes. I’m such an emotional mess. However, I’ve got God in my life and I think HE’s been getting me through it all too. So anyway, I’m gonna go for now. I think maybe he/she had a congenital defect from during the developing Process. He/she was breathing so heavy and then would try to stand and make a few good moves then fell over and that was it. The other was so concerned about its sibling that I know E25 wanted to help so bad but couldn’t and that was heartbreaking.💔😔🌈🐥. But enough about that. I do hope you have a good night and keep the faith and love to you my friend and if you ever need to vent in a comment to me, just let it out to me cause I’m always here for friends. All of our hearts are breaking at once and as a whole community. So many hopes were attached to one nest and to two of the most special babies and their parents. It will be a hard night for everyone after celebrating the joy of the newest eggs. I am devastated for this family, she? was so close to E25 it breaks my heart how she went to be close to him twice in this video. The video Earlier when she was being fed the duck - what I thought was odd were strange chortle and other bird noises I couldn't figure out where they came from bc E25 had normal squeeing waiting its turn but it was odd bc kept expecting to see birds around the nest but maybe it was E24 choking but she kept eating. Sooooo heartwrenching!! Brought me to tears watching poor Lil 24 struggling that way! You can literally 'see' the last breath! Sooooo incredibly sad!😪😪😪😪 💜🙏💜🙏💜🙏💜🙏💜🙏💜 I have my two guesses as I've seen the same symptoms before. Our precious babt!! Fly high Lil one!💜🙏💜🙏💜

How awful! It happens in nature but it's always so sad! This particular pair of E's were so sweet together, I hope E25 will be able to continue thriving without their sibling. Poor precious E24, they were growing up so fast!

I don’t have the words right now; I’m just devastated; heartbroken; shocked. Little E24 was adorable. Little E25 is gonna miss him, as well as M15 & F23. Prayers that this same thing that happened today doesn’t affect E25/M15/F23. 🙏🏼🙏🏼

I’m so, so sorry Lady Hawk. We watched E24 grow & thrive every single day since December 14th, 2024. But we watch your videos & read your lovely descriptions multiple times every day. You know so much more than most of us & you are like our only human connection to the eagle family at the Pritchett estate. If it was possible, I’d send you some beautiful flowers. RIP E24….we all love you & will miss you everyday.

@LadyHawk my friend and ambassador of all the Eagle nests I have followed with SWFL being my first. I remember E14's passing and I had to take the longest time out. I want so much to believe that E24 is with Harriet. I will need another long time out my friend. Luv u so much and my heart is breaking with yours. 😢

Hello Chris I remember that about E14 - it was very upsetting for the longest time! I totally understand needing some time away - somethings hurt too deeply. I am still recording the entire day with E24 to try and understand or find some clues. It is probably all in vain we may never know what happened. If I stop working then the tears become too overwhelming for me. 😢💔God bless you my friend - love you too.

I think it was yesterday, if not the day before, that F23 had to take a fish away from the nest. Maybe I'm wrong, but I distinctly recall that E25 was eating the fish, trying to self-feed. E25 got a little bit of it caught in his or her throat and began having some trouble. F-23 took the rest of the fish immediately off of the nest. F23 did not remove the part that E25 had been eating. Maybe that's what E24 got ahold of and was trying self-feeding. I don't know whose video I watched showing that incident.

I hadn't had a chance to watch the nest today so when I finally got an opportunity it was about 10 minutes before the passing of E24 😢 I'm absolutely devastated as I know all of us are. Lady Hawk, reading your words about E24 being with Harriet now, brought forth the tears I'd been holding back but definitely gives me comfort ❤ Praying that whatever caused E24s sudden passing doesn't effect E25 🙏 RIP E24 you will be missed 🦅🩷
