Great videos guys, reallly like how you show the differances of each boat, I picked up a Keewaydin 17 combi 2 years ago... love it for tripping with a friend and occasially with the whole faimly of 4 (2 small ones). It's true what Bill says, you can never have too many boats.. a pack boat is next!

Good job my friends, I can't imagine the years of trials put in these. I can't wait to try the cruiser 15.8, your words instantly sold me on it.

Fantastic job on this video. I really feel like I've learned something and it seems you can't go wrong with any of these!

Another excellent video. Really looking forward to taking receipt of my Prospector 14 this spring. Bob is looking forward to his 13.6 as well. It's going to be a great year!

Such beautiful thoughtfully designed boats and craftsmanship. I would love to see the Pack 12.6 boat dimensionally grow to 14' long x 31" wide, and 12" deep, and become a more modern hybrid cruiser/tripper... :)

Do you know of any videos that demonstrate self rescue in your pack or crusier boats? I paddle alone and was wondering how easy it is to get back in the boat and bail. I'm trying to determine if I should get one of these boats or a Kiwassa kayak. Thank you!

I'm between the Keewaydin and Prospector 14. Inspired by Joe Robinet and Jason Irwin to take up the hobby and maybe visit Ontario one day in the future (from the UK). After seeing your other comparison video with the green expedition kevlar Prospector 14, I think that would be the one for me. Looks great. Are you taking on any new staff at Swift? I'd love to emigrate but need to be sure of a job first!

What about rocks? I was told not to buy a composite get a plastic. I would primarily be launching among rocks.

Which boat suits simple class 1. on the Delaware River longer distances like 14 miles per day with efficiency in headwinds some days . Modest cargo need. Kayak blade. Some abrasion durability. Want my wife to have an ultimate amazing solo ride and have a light lift load in a fun boat to see the easy rivers and lakes journey if she were solo and not needing to haul gear like we did in our prospectors together. Of course her tush will know the best final beam and feel.

Love these pack boats. Which laminate is the Cruiser 15.8 in the video? Carbon Fusion?

New to the channel, fantastic info. So I owned a Penobscot 17 since 94', barely paddled it when I discovered Kayaking in 01' I'm a big guy 6'2" 280 but athletic. Looking for a boat to to go on multi day tours on small rocky rivers. I have a tendency to over pack. I dont want to feel like the boat is way down in the water. Also I'd prefer it be set up solo, and 17 feet and under. The Prospector16 looks like a perfect match, but it's a tandem. Any suggestions? Could I order any model and have it set up for solo?

I would give the prospector 14 pack boat a try, possibly in expedition kevlar depending on how shallow and rocky that river is.

The p14 would definitely be a good boat for you but Swift is awesome about modifying to your needs tell them you want a p15 or a p16 setup in Solo configuration they're doing awesome things now with Combi boats I have a p16 expedition Kevlar could not love it more

Iowa Matt - How much weight do you think you will be carrying with you? The Prospector 14 carries a very big load, but the Prospector 15 or 16 can be made with a seat right in the middle balance position as well.
@iowamatt25193 жыл бұрын
@@billswift8022 I would say at most 125, except the Mrs is wanting a dog, its been a year since our golden retriever died, so adding another 80 lbs to that, I would say 500 lbs of load weight. But want good performance with that. I'm scared of all the scraping I do here in Northern Iowa that they won't last. An alternative would be to outfit one of your Northern brand Prospectors.

we have done a solo setup Pro 15 before, and now also offer a Pro 15 'Combi' which has a center solo seat as well as the bow/stern seats. If you're looking for a solo/tandem hybrid we can definitely help. If you're looking for a dedicated solo I'd look at the Prospector 14.

Are there any performance differences with your 3 different laminates?
@SwiftCanoeKayak3 жыл бұрын
No performance is all in the shape. The laminates determine durability, weight, and to a lesser extent colour options.

Love the look of the cruiser. All of them have a sweet look really. I really wanna pick up a prospector 14 ! I have emailed, no response yet, but feel free to message me if there is one in stock anywhere in Ontario! Or even Quebec, Manitoba, anywhere really.
