I started leanring this song today, because my dad told me it was one of the first songs he learned when he was young teenager say 50 years ago... It's so much fun leanring this.. It has such a spaghetti western vibe, as I am singing I feel like I am a different me, sitting in a dark lonely bar in the wild west, telling a melancholic story to the bartender about my dark past, dust and brushes roll out on the street in front of the bar, with hopes for the future generations to make better decisions.....

Extensive review with lots of detail. I can see you've put a great deal of work into it. But still, music is all about the sound, so I have to ask: does this @ 6:13 really sound right to you? When I was on keyboard /organ back in late sixties and my band did this that was the way our guitar player would always do it. It irritated me every time he would do that double-picked turnaround because I KNEW that wasn't the way it was recorded. When I finally got my own guitar and had a chance to finally watch Hilton do it in person and up close, I was so thankful for confirmation I had been getting it right. To get the original sound on the D and F runs the double picking has to be at the *bottom* of the arpeggio not the top. That way after the initial note rings out, the rest are a fast cascade ending with a *smooth* four-note turnaround at the top, no notes omitted (you did) and with no two notes duplicated. When the doubled note is at the beginning it's virtually unnoticeable, but at the top because high frequencies have maximum penetration, everyone hears it. So, why would anyone choose that? Have you tried doing it the other way? And arpeggios done correctly don't omit notes in the sequence. But you're teaching that here.

As a pianist I prefer the Ami to not have the 7th coming down on the strum. The G tone suggests that the C harmony has intruded too soon. Fmaj7th maintains the top E and that seems to make the progression more consolidated. An opinion of course as played on a keyboard
@JaalexCobra3 жыл бұрын
Not sure if he explained it but what is this note called after E? 3:36 with the pinky on D (3rd of B)
