The best part of the video, apart from the different shades of meaning, what I like most is classifying which meaning is formal , which one is informal and to what degree they are so. Thanks for the nuanced distinction.

1 To swill = to wash something out with lots of water He swilled his mouth out with water. 2 To move round and round, a liquid He swilled the ice and whisky in his glass. 3 To drink greedily, in large quantities. 4 Pig swill = waste food or liquid to feed the pigs. 5 Something of really bad quality. This essay is absolutely swill. 6 Bad quality alcohol He refused to drink the swill they were providing at the hotel. Learned all the meanings! Cool!

Hello I used to read "mill and boons" novel a long time ago. there I came across this word for the first time only with its bite-sized use for already washed kitchen utensils' putting under tap water again to make sure these are finally clean.but the way you described its use in multiple context is commendable.I wash my mouth but never know how to describe my action of taking mouthful of water, moving it around and throw it just in one word. now I can because of you. thanks

It reminds me of the time when 16-year-old and about to finish high school, I wagged along with my mates the entire day having a lark and swilling some cheap spirits that ended up being just cheap swill.

As a result of the today's feverish desire of instant gratification, many people tend to give up their endeavours if they cannot see the immediate outcome of their works. Disappointment is highly likely to swill out their pale efforts.
