This is great. At the moment I swim just like Scott 5 years ago. I have pursued a well known swimming methodology that encourages a slow two beat kick and I stall just like Scott, with excessive rotation and a left hand pause at extension. Fortunately I have just found a swim coach in Sydney who will work with me to fix it. I take 65 sec for 50 metres ie. hopelessly slow. I hope I can fix this in less than 5 yrs !

Glad Scott persevered with improving his swimming. Takes some dedication to get over bad habits in 5 years. I'm just getting back into swimming never been coached and I've some way to go and breathing is my first aim to get right or what other aspect would you consider more beneficial?

That 1.5 second stall was bananas.

Interesting but do you think a man only 5'8and half inch with small hands should speed up arm stroke rate. Glide probably shorter?

As a good way to answer that question I’d strongly recommend watching my recent video on this matter Jeff: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aHjYkGOAasiVgpY

And to make it worse doesn’t even give solutions so we can solve the problem.
