I'm not used to this level of advice without it being delivered in torrential rain on the Irish coast with a bearded ginger man yelling Marouch at me 😅 Love this throwing analogy, it makes sense without even knowing how to break down all the individual components of a throw.

This is one of the things i've been working on for the past couple of weeks. It's transformed my swing. I always got too quick from the top and struggled with weight transfer. By really slowing the backswing down and then a gradual acceleration into the ball it allows me to sync everything up much easier. Gives you time to get your body in the position it needs to be at impact.

Good lesson! I think it's important to get the right shaft in your driver so it loads up without being too stiff or too soft. The release of that energy in the shaft being bent and released at the moment of impact really helps.

Exactly! High handicappers will never achieve the timing required to properly swing a club, mostly because they don't have hours every day to practice. Even if they have the time, they'll never have the perfect timing needed. Golf is probably the hardest game to play & even harder to learn so don't freak out because you don't play as well as you think you should, & beyond that, learning a really good swing doesn't necessarily mean you'll score well. Swinging well on the range doesn't teach playing under real course conditions along with the added necessity of being good at chipping, pitching & putting which count for 75% of your score.

I watched so many videos telling me to get more hip turn and turn with the lower body first. I ended up being in a place where i got so much hip turn and went so early that my hands were coming behind my back. I couldn't get any power or consistency. I found out that i need to be in a window of sequence, not early or late.

great videos as always. Just a comment thou on the "skimming drill #2" as i've heard many professionals talk about it: If you're a rght-hand hitter while being in life a left-hand thrower, it's really hard to "feel" that drill. Is there anything else that could be helpful for our breed of golfers ?

Well, the problem is that we assume that we have to move towards the ball/target etc. in the start of the downswing. But, we should do the exact opposite. We make the same mistake in the takeaway; and, assume that we should just simply swing back. But, the waggle would suggest otherwise. We press the left hand forwards to waggle the club back; and we press the index finger side of the left hand towards the right hand to return the club to the ball. And, really the waggle is the unconscious mind telling us how it wants us to control the club in the swing.

That amount of rotation is easily achieved when you're using only your trail hand but adding the lower hand obviously doesn't let you turn that much. Also, you're demonstrating keeping the handle ahead when with driver, the exact opposite should be done to allow the proper upswing. I'm not doubting what you're saying but only what you're doing in your demonstration.

Changing speed snd continually building until time of impact is called acceleration. The club head is continually accelerating toward the ball at the time of impact.

@@latenite3931 We all heard, but nobody who actually hits it long swings slow to hit shots further. It's not going to magically appear in the last third, and it doesn't matter if you have that post impact when the ball is gone and it's not so important. Get speed to start things off so you can have more speed on the way down. There, saved you the agony of having to watch a 10 minute video full of bollocks
@mikerodrick2430
@mikerodrick2430 Ай бұрын
Your arms have to slow down to allow the club to gain maximum speed just as your rotation has to stop to let the arms pass that increases speed. It's just like cracking a whip. Your hand has to stop to create speed, even by moving backwards to create the snap. Everything can't move at the same speed or it's impossible to create any speed which is also the reason for the wrist hinge which is eventually released providing speed to the hands which transfers speed to the clubhead. It's all a matter of perfect sequence which is why it's so hard for high handicappers to achieve. Something has to stop to allow something else move faster. That's a simple application of physics.
