Quick Storytime: My sister met her now boyfriend on a free dating site. In the initial stages of her relationship he showed exactly the type of man he would be. I remember when my sister told me while they were dating (early stages) that one day she spent the night and in the morning he asked if she wanted brunch. She said yes and he told her to get dressed and that they will take his two dogs w them. They go and when they arrive at the restaurant he tells her to go inside and pick up the food and that he'll wait outside and hold the dogs. She ended up paying $150 for takeout that he already preordered. I clearly told her he isn't the one. That was a test(trick) and she failed. Fast forward almost 2 years and she moved in w him, 50/50 relationship, no ring, and I can already tell he is never going to marry her. He see's her as a roommate he can sleep w and can get a break on his rent and bills. Why buy the cow if the milk is free.

Then tell other women to stop going on 3 dates or more a week with different men. Men won't feel used paying for restaurant. Women aren't the same as they used to be back 30 years ago, so men don't treat them the same. Meal at Cafe that serves good food 😋 should be fine when meeting someone online for first time or buffet or a place that serves yummy dessert 🍨if women never used men I would say this comment you made is one of the best comments on here. I treat a girl friend to resturants I treat a stranger I meet in person good but different.
@wiseman41603 жыл бұрын
@Mind yours When meeting someone for first time that's non sense to expect the same kind of resturant, as if you were already a couple. If a man wants to take you to a very nice restaurant that's great. But women expecting a very nice restaurant from a person they just meet in person shows that women just cares about herself only. Also some women go on 2 to 3 dates a week who wants to pay for a very nice restaurant to someone that uses men. You may not use men and that's great, but lots of women do use men, so the bad ones ruined it for the good ones. In a perfect world the man of your dreams will treat a women he hardly knows to a very nice restaurant. We don't live in a perfect world so the man that's right for you doesn't want to be used. Playing games like telling men there not the right person for you if they don't treat you to a very nice restaurant, your just making it harder on yourself to find the person. While your scaring off some of the good ones. I know happly Married couples and they didn't do anything expensive on the first date.
@wiseman41603 жыл бұрын
@Mind yours A very nice Restaurant is meant to show a girlfriend or wife how much he appreciate her and love her. Not a stranger you may never see again or she go on 2 or 3 more dates with other men that same week.
@wiseman41603 жыл бұрын
@Mind yours I'm not talking about a man going on many dates. I'm talking about a women going on many dates with different men that same month and them paying for a nice restaurant, then she goes on other dates with different men that same month, even though he spent money on very nice dinner. As I said before in a perfect world your 100 percent right. But some women don't care how men feel about this topic, they just see men as atm attention money and time, could care less about the man not feeling used. And she's not going on many dates because men don't treat her to a nice restaurant in a perfect world that would be why she goes on many dates because he's too cheap to treat her to a nice restaurant. That's usually not why. Because it's not a perfect world, so she goes on many dates because she has lots of options so she lets many men pay for nice restaurant until she choose. That's why men don't like to pay for very nice restaurant with a stranger he hardly knows.

My personal tips: Never get attached to anyone. Always video chat before meeting in person. Never sit and talk to a man all day/night as this creates a fake bond. Keep the conversation short and leave him wanting more -- which should lead him to ask you on an actual date. Never meet a man at his house or his friends house or anyone's house for that matter. Met a quality man online years ago. He is rich (family has loads of money), tall, childless, full head of hair, handsome, and recently single. Didn’t know how to start dating again so he went on an app. We are actually neighbors too, but the app made us meet and speak. I’m black, he is white, so having an app act as a “matchmaker” would have lessened the awkwardness if either of us were not open to an interracial relationship. Countless relationships start online nowadays, never know when and where you’ll meet your person. And waiting for real life meetings may make you single for years. I know this from experience. It also is low effort, in my eyes, for a man to want to gather assumptions based on my post than to ask intentional questions to get to know me via the app or on a date after vetting. Coffee DATES?! DATES?!?! lol. My girlfriends and I called those meetings. When I was doing dating online- my dates would talk to me for a few days and then ask to meet me in person for about an hour or 2 at a well known café or coffee shop (for safety reasons). They would pay for our drinks (and desserts or whatever) and after getting to know me within that time, invite me to a restaurant of my choice and walk me out to my car. THEN- and only then- do they get a "first date"... lol. Making sure they asked me out to meet face to face was VERY important. As for the pictures and profiles - I learned from another hypergamy group I joined when I was 16 how to take photos of myself(usually inside of upscale hotels or restaurants or at beaches). For the bios I would never mention what I do for work, and I would be "classy" about what I was seeking in this courtship. As a bonus, I would write my profiles in the languages of the men I seek (日本語, 한국어, 廣東話, or 官話) and express my lifestyle with my interests. The language alone siphoned out creeps and weirdos quick. I could go on, but in short - online dating can be ridiculous, but having a plan, setting some rules, and making things challenging for men can make it a tad bit easier.

@@strawberrynovel3786 I'm sorry I'm just seeing this! I keep my bios short and sweet, and I always try to make it sound like I'm writing a book (and I'm the main character lol). One profile opened with " (I'm)Fond of luxuries, both great and small...". That opening combined with pictures of me in very "luxurious" places delivered the message well. I would also add things like "Looking to build a strong lasting relationship, with courteous and chivalrous gentlemen" My wording fits my personality, so this worked just fine for me.(I'm a romantic, and I speak "romantically" lol) Hook people with your bio. As for delivering my expectations, that happens over time. For instance- I mentioned my dating prospects would message or text me for a few days. Over that time I would give them some basic ideas of what I expect. For instance, if I get a message at 11:30pm I would answer at 9am "I'm sorry I missed your message, I don't text after 10pm". I give them ideas of the kinds of dinner dates I'm used to, often offering suggestions. I even discuss little known cooking styles and events I'm interested in. I very casually lay things on the table. Sorry for the long response, I hope I answered the question. 💕

Unless I have or can make additional plans or a place to go afterwards, it would irk me to get dolled up for just 1.5 hours or less, the conversation isn’t great or there’s no connection & then head right back home and take everything right off. At least when it’s early, you’re already nicely dressed for the day, can finish daily plans and can possibly even meet more potential dates. Any thoughts or does anyone feel the same?

Oh yea, just about the men I spoke to online (mainly POF and BLK) always tell me how much money they have and can’t afford to keep going on dates. They say that shit effortlessly as if breathing and I just cancel them and never make it pass the online chat or phone. These men weed themselves out so I don’t have to. I’ll ball out by myself on myself. I shouldn’t know your financial situation good or bad! It should speak for itself.

Girl, I met a man online and we planned to meet at a pool hall and shoot pool and chat. When I told him I was on my way to meet him there he texted me back “change of plans. Let just meet at my place and Netflix and chill.” I told his ass no! He went off on me in the text and I deleted and blocked. This was on POF about2- 3 years ago. Always meet in a public place during sun up. The latest I will meet someone is 9pm and leave them by 10p. Anything else is too late for me.

I’ve been using the paid version of Match and it’s still similar to the free sites to a large degree. You still have to do a lot of weeding out with guys on there, but I do think the quality of men is a little better. However, I’ve gotten more dates off Facebook dating, but the weeding process there is absolutely ridiculous. It’s just as you say, 1-2 quality men per 100! SMH
@OLatreil3 жыл бұрын
Great tips Chloe! Some of them I am doing and some I need to implement. One is to try one of the paid dating apps. I stopped talking on the phone for a long time with men once I realize what type of men they turned out to be, usually very clingy and insecure. Older is the way to go. You helped me understand the build-a-man concept and older men have already built themselves and seem less anxious and able to relax. Another tip is to stick to our standards. If a guy wants to go to your place or his, just stay no and stick to that. We have the final word on what he can do with us.

For everyone saying meeting someone online is creepy and there’s a bunch a weirdos, you can meet that same creepy weirdo in real life. Just because you met a man in real life and he tells you his name is Jonnie and he makes 6 figures a year he could be lying too! You don’t know that man, just like you don’t know the man you met online. The only precaution we can do is listen to what he says, see how he treats you, and do some an online background check on his ass! 😂

Feeling close-contact Energy, body language, mannerisms, facial expressions, tone of voice, body odor, potential stank breath, actions & politeness, physical attraction, hygiene and style, confidence or lack of it, eye contact and actually seeing a human being in person can save you a WORLD of time and trouble when you meet people in real life opposed to online. Yes there is creeps everywhere but when someone is in your physical space and face its easier to detect a dusty then the dump of catfish trolls that pretend to be high value men behind a computer screen with pics that aren’t even them possibly smh that’s why I don’t online date

I do agree that coffee dates are low effort but I also hate being stuck on a date with weirdos because they are paying for everything and I don’t want to be rude and leave. Sometimes a 20 min meeting low pressure something flexible (were u can cancel if it rains and you don’t want to go out) can be a great way to not spend a long 2 part hours date with a dude you don’t like.

I agree, I also feel culture plays a part. In Australia we have a huge coffee culture, cafes anywhere and everywhere, usually with food. I reckon a 'pre-date' followed by a proper dinner date is the formula for me, I'd hate to be stuck eating with someone I wasn't vibing with. I imagine it's different in America but in Australia there's heaps of cool and trendy cafes
