OH MY GOD 😮🎉 I can't believe I'm watching a reporter Europian man from Switzerland eating a proper Bangladeshi meal WITH HIS HANDS with proper technique and not making a mess of it. Where did you even learn that. And you are doing the whole thing with your family! 🤯 Hats off to you and your family for the effort you put in just to embrace our culture with open arms and an open mind. I would definitely love to meet you and your family and extend you a proper Bangladeshi hospitality. If there's anything you need, or anything we can do to make your stay a little more comfortable, just ask. Thank you for the delightful sight❤

@@yvesthesleeveThere are many Bangladeshi restaurants in the UK and Europe are often labeled as "Indian" or "Indian/Bangladeshi" cuisine can be traced back to the history of the Indian subcontinent before Bangladesh gained independence in 1971. Before the creation of Bangladesh, the region was part of British India, and the cuisine of the entire subcontinent was often referred to as "Indian food" in the West. When Bangladesh became an independent country, it still shared many culinary traditions with its neighboring regions, such as West Bengal in India, which is why the term "Indian" persisted in many restaurant names. Additionally, the large migration of people from the Indian subcontinent (including Bangladesh) to the UK and Europe, especially post-World War II, contributed to the dominance of the "Indian restaurant" label. Today, while some restaurants choose to reflect the distinction by calling themselves "Bangladeshi" or "Indian/Bangladeshi," many continue to use the broad "Indian" label due to its familiarity and the historical context of how South Asian cuisine was categorized.

Hi! I have seen many foreigners visiting Bangladesh but you are probably the first with a full family!! I hope that you'll enjoy your time here and stay safe. I would recommend you to go out of Dhaka and visit other places. It's better out there than in Dhaka. Try Sylhet, Cox'sBazar, Rajsahi. All are great places to visit. Dhaka is just suffocating now. Everyone who is watching your videos from Bangladesh would hate to watch your family go through any sort of trouble, specially for the kids. And try to avoid being outside after evening. Almost everyone outside will help you out, but there are some who may cause trouble for you. Stay safe and enjoy.

Lovely kids and family! Welcome to Bangladesh. Great to see how much you enjoyed our spicy food and fish. You might find it extra spicy because it's meant to be eaten with plenty of rice. Bangladeshi river fish is a gem for fish lovers and tastes really great. However, yes, we have to deal with fish bones while eating. Different types of fish have different kinds of bones. A fishbone stuck in your throat is a nightmare and very painful, especially for kids. So, take your time to separate the bones before mixing it with rice. Don’t let your kids eat fish with bones by themselves. Also, be careful on the busy roads with your kids. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance. All the best!
@k241187114 сағат бұрын
The red fried leaves is red spinach. The green veg most likely green papaya. My father loved green papaya in sugar syrup. As you're in Bangladesh, if you do get invited to someone's house do go. Bangladeshi Hospitality rivals the Afghans. My top tip for dishes to try 1) Shatkora - a bitter citrus fruit with meat. You'll get that in Sylhet 2) Red Pumpkin with red meat, sweet and fatty 3) A large prawn dish (prawn bhuna) 4) One day old broadbean/long bean meat curry 5) Tenga, a sour soup with sea food. I personally like it with prawns 6) The really smelly soup - not one for kids. Its called Shutki. The broth has so much omami flavour (how to rationalise it, imagine smelly cheese). There's also sun dried meat curry, try but it will be very spicy 7) Bangladeshis have a liking for sour and spicy, again not really for kids. Get a guide to guide you. as there are sun dried and fresh ones. So you might see a green fruit covered in chilli and salt, I love it, its called amra. The seed is prickly. There's green mango salad, also very sour and spicy. They will have dark dried cherries in sugar syrup, the kids will like those 8) Fish eggs are big in BD, try one of those dishes. Avoid something called Hilsha. Its filled with bones but its eggs are amaziing
