Swiss Golden Pass PanoramicTrain - Zweisimmen to Montreux and Chillon Castle

At Zweisimmen we board the narrow gauge train for the last leg of our Golden Pass rail adventure, again travelling through stunning Swiss scenery. Lake Geneva glints in the evening sunlight far below as our train screeches and squeals it’s tortuous way down the mountain side, losing height through a series of Zig Zags before arriving in Montreux, where we change to a standard gauge train for the short ride to Lausanne. The following day we return to Montreux to take a lake steamer to Chillon Castle.

Tim, I have to agree with all the comments below. This may be one of your best videos ever. Stunning scenery, amazing Swiss engineering on display, loved the sound track; this one simply has it al!! Your payment to the weather gods has paid off again with a couple of picture perfect days. Love your Swiss videos the most, everything is so beautiful and pristine. I tell you what Tim, if you put all that video togehther from scratch or thereabouts scratch, then that was'nt just a nice train ride in a nice place, it was part of one of the best train ride video's I have seen thus far. Seriously, from the production quality to the choice of music and all in between, 10/10

Lovely variety of views again. I still prefer the old carriages where you can open the windows to these modern air conditioned things any day.

Like you, I prefer the old carriages with opening windows, much easier for photography as there is no reflection or distortion from the glass. Although for passengers who just want to sit back and enjoy the scenery without the discomfort of a draft caused by an open window, the new carriages are probably preferable.

Every time I watch your videos I feel like I am right there. Such very beautiful scenes. You should make a video or movie of all the places you have been . It would be awesome to watch. I really enjoy the trips you take me on in each. Places I will never get to see in my life time. I have one question is disabled people with walkers able to get on and off these trains & trams with their walkers? I have only in other videos seen people use walking canes in both hands and only one wheel chair in one tram video thus far? Just wandering in case I hit a lottery some day in my dreams. (Nope don't play--yes I use a walker) Thanks for the video. Safe travels ahead. God bless.

HI, its nice to have your company on another of my video trips. Switzerland is just wonderful. The modern trains and trams have disabled access although that is not always the case on vintage stock. I traveled by train around Switzerland with my mother, she requires two sticks to walk and she managed OK, although a little help was required at times. The Swiss are wonderful people, there will always be someone prepared to help if required. In the meantime work on that lottery win, but you will have to buy a lucky ticket first. Good Luck. Tim.

There is one job and one window I would love to be sat behind, where the changing seasons and scenery can be appreciated in all its glory, but there is probably already a long waiting list for those wishing to drive the trains.
