In this video we tested one of our switch barrel "Letalis" rifles for repeatability. Our goal was to determine if our point of impact would remain the same after switching barrels, scopes, and bolts.
Notes on the test:
For the 6.5 Creedmoor, I was shooting a Hornady Precision Hunter 143grn load, and for the .221 Fireball, I was shooting a handload from the customer. Accuracy with the 6.5 Precision Hunter load was mediocre with about a 1" 3 shot group. Later testing found that it loved a Hornady Match 140grn load with consistent 1/2" groups. The customer has since developed a load that does even better. Accuracy wasn't the purpose of this test, rather repeatability. In this aspect the gun performed very well without noticeably changing the point of impact after switching between calibers.
A keen observer will likely notice an occasional jump in the video. I did edit the video for time in between some of the shots.
Unfortunately my DSLR cameras time out after 20 minutes so they missed the last three shots with the Creedmoor.

Yes, that would certainly be an option. This customer just preferred to have two scopes set up.

I love the idea to change but most of ppl use only one set for each gun. It is good if ppl need to buy more if the existing got bad.

Needing to switch barrels is silly. If a guy can afford this custom rifle setup then he should more then be able to just have 2 rifles and a man to carry them around while hunting.

There's been a whole lot of switch barrel rifles built for bench rest competition to fit the light/heavy varmit classes and even a few factory guns in the past so it's been well proven. At a starting price of $1335 for the action, add another trigger and stock it probably saves at least $2k. It's likely not the way I'd go, but then again it wasn't built to please me. That's some very impressive gun smithing to get a repeatable poi like that.

@@turningpoint6643 it was a very nice rifle. But no one has time in a hunt or competition to switch a whole setup . In benchrest and exotic game hunting 2k is nothing compared to plane tickets, guides, lodges, licenses, taxidermy etc

@@amazing_Joomla Blaser is the same problem, you can buy five rifles that are equal or better than Blaser, for what they typically cost. The big advantage is portability for air travel; the ability to go to hunting fields in possibly Africa, where there are 1 rifle restrictions, but a Blaser with any number of barrels is accepted; and there are high costs of rifle certification in some countries in Europe, or limits, on the number of rifles you can own. But in the US, makes no sense. But people want what they want. There is a cool factor.
