The quietest keyboard is the one that displays the Keys with a laser, so If it displays the Keys on your bed it will be close to unbeatable in being quiet

The O-rings are literally OP at noise cancelling. You could skip the spray lubing and foam and just stick some O-rings in the switches and it would be quiet af! :-|

You have to keep in mind that the sound of you touching the keys makes a sound that doesn't happen when you press the keys down, so technically this keyboard is almost 100% silent

7:23 Technically, if you don't screw the PCB down all the way, and it's resting on the silicone, it becomes a DIY gasket mount. It's a feature!

WD40 as lubricant, especially for plastics, is not a good idea. The solvents in it will disintegrate many plastics over time -- crazing, cracking and discoloring them.

Yup. It's a common misconception that WD-40 can be used for stuff like this. WD-40 is, in fact, _not_ a lubricant, and will destroy stuff like this.

After months and months of watching your videos and other KZbinrs, I finally got myself a Redragon K552. I was surprised to find a keycap puller in the box and 4 extra switches. Will try different types and application of lubrication to see which one performs best. I think I can sacrifice ScrLk and Pause keys as well in the name of Sayence. These are Outemu Blues so have to experiment.

@@N1lav you can just clip the extra legs off a 5-pin switch, but Akko CS switches are good options if you don’t want to do that

@@evilsmileyface Its not the extra pins that are the problem, Outemu sockets are thinner than Gateron/Cherry switch pins, so before swapping the pins need be either clipped or dremeled. I have ordered a tester pack with a few Gateron Kailh and Gazzew switches. I will try swapping the lower housing on the Gats to see if they work. Its all experimentaion from now on. :P

Now that purple one is what ive been looking for in a keyboard for years, the sound of mechanical keyboards is what has really kept me away from them. For me i dont really care about tactile feel, i dont mind the mushyness of a membrane key, but damn those are nice.

I love the keycaps! I really want those, now! lol I am running kaihl speed copper switches. I like how they sound, but those switches you used... Sheesh! So damn quiet! lol Also, the nimbleback is my most favorite keyboard to modify. It has so much potential, with such a small form factor. :D
