The tape mod does wonders for this keyboard. I will say, I did a custom with GMMK barebones, tecsee yellow medium switches (not the LOWEST profile, but much lower than standard switches), o-rings, gateron low profile stabs, womier low profile keycaps, poron stickers under the switches, and a thicker shelf liner inside to make it a little less hollow sounding. That combo is quieter, and has a deeper thock, and to me is a much more pleasant sound. However, that's DIY. This keyboard, in the discounted kickstarter price, seems worth it. But once that thing hits $130, I would suggest the ones I went with. It's just such a pleasant sounding combo, particularly those yellow mediums.
@TheEightDomainАй бұрын
Tape mod can make any trash keyboard (like my ROG Azoth) sound better, though I had to remove the battery and just use it wired because battery + tape mod = fire risk.
@BurittoSandwich7 күн бұрын
@@TheEightDomain If you're using non-conductive tape then you should be fine. If you're doing the tape mod, then you most likely already have a foam layer between the taped up PCB and the back of the case that contains the battery. It's a safe and cheap mod to do for final tuning since the PCB and battery are physically separated.

@Darkstar77_1Ай бұрын
It would be great if you took some time to test these out on Linux before saying they don't work. 99.9% of boards are going to work in Linux, just not the software for configuring. If the board can function as a proper USB HID, Linux is going to work with it. The problems usually only happen when the keyboard isn't compliant with the USB HID standard, and require software on the system to function. Off the top of my head the Keychron K4 at release, and a few Logitech boards way back when they had the roamer switches. Even then, they mostly worked, and keychron solved that in a firmware update after the fact. You could drop a Linux live distro on a USB drive, and just boot it off of USB without installing it, to test these boards. The blanket statement of not supported, or won't work, or might work, just get rid of it, and check it. The worst thing that could happen is you like Linux and use it more.

With fat fingers in the WASD grip, your ring finger is on the left side of the A, and the index finger on the right side of the D. Those big tapers on full profile keyboards feel terrible! Please don’t only make light low profiles! I’d like a chunky full CNC aluminum low profile keyboard! And give me alllll the switch and keycap options.
