As an electronics engineer I can tell you an extremely solid power supply can be built for less than $20 bucks, it’s hard to understand musical fufu stuff that’s what... $250.00 that’s just insane...

Well sure 20 bucks for the pure power supply parts BUT what about a case, switches, connectors, r&d, production cost, labor costs, packaging etc... Its not that easy... people want ready made products not just "parts" for a power supply... And you didnt provid the schematic that was asked for either... I hardly doubt you are really an engineer because you dont understand the difference between a marketable product and the parts you have to have to make a "thing" work on your workbench...

@@ickebins6948 The fact that you can buy this type of power supply on dozens of websites at the price point I mentioned still doesn’t dissuade you from this comment... Yeah, it has only four loops. But for someone like me, that uses only 4 pedals plus tuner at the moment but has some singing to do while playing, it is quite convenient to not have to do tap dancing to switch effects. So this is the perfect switcher for me
@alexbreyer6921
@alexbreyer6921 4 жыл бұрын
I wonder. With the switches being so close together, the four pedals alone might easier to work with. If it was more loops and multiple rows of pedals, I would agree.
@jjrusy7438

This thing is nice. Also there is nothing stopping one from chaining two pedals on a single loop when you have 2 pedals that always get used together to save a loop I would guess that a bigger one with maybe 8 switches will show up soon. also that would be 8 instant pedal-patches vs 4 before having to switch pages. Time will tell how that little 2A wall wart will hold up. that's kind of a big wattage for a tiny piece of electronics. heat dissipation becomes an issue. Behringer mixers run hotter than I would like fwiw

Mine makes a loud noise through the amp when switching some pedals. My Mooer (true bypass) distortion and delay pedals are fine but I had a zoom G3 for modulation etc in a loop and got a pop noise when switching to it. I bought a boss super chorus and put it on instead of the zoom and still the same issue. Wondering if it’s just an issue where not true bypass or modulation.

Servus! I use it on my board with eight pedals plus tuner and simply put corresponding effects together. For me it's a way to disable or enable effects prior to any given song and thus define my palette for the tune and switch between those options via the looper. It's very versatile that way.

@foll_saufcore

@@philliprenz6088 Nope, that's not an option with this model. All you do with this one is ommit certain pedals if you want to. What I do to circumvent this, is using my amp on the clean channel and using a H&K Tubeman on the board, which is essentially the preamp of my amp. The other option would be to drive your amp on a hotter channel and using a minus boost to go cleaner

Hello to everyone, I have seen this video and I am wondering if it is possible to use this switcher in order to switch two amps. I am refering to change the signal so that the non-switched amp remains muted. Maybe through both the mute button and the tuner output?. Thank you for your attention and greetings to all of you.

Loop switchers are kind of stupid expensive. Most switchers either fall into programmable or non programmable category. And those that do both are even more expensive. This one looks to be programmable only, which is a mixed bag. I had the Moen GEC9 Commander V2, which is actually easier than this one and controls more loops, and it's about $250-$290. High quality build and quiet operation. But it's switching is for programmed loops only, so jamming and just experimenting with different pedal combos is really impossible with that switcher. I believe this Harley Benton would be the same. One that does both and looks attractive is the EHX Super Switcher. It's large, but does nearly everything but allowing for changing the pedal order digitally (like the Boss ES-8 or Gig Rig G2 can do).

@@seanwesley9556 how do you daisy chain 2 X 200ma 1 X 300ma and 1 X 500ma? That would logically mean only two outputs are chained. The two 200ma yes? So... Make sure you don't put your drive or distortion pedals through them as they're more likely to give earth hum. Shouldn't be hard, I personally don't own any drive pedals that draw more than 200ma. I know it seems like a waste of the isolated higher rated outlets, but if it's a problem, don't buy the unit. At least be fully informed. Come on Henning -be serious! Four or Fife true Bypass pedals easily acessible in a row controlled by a hard acsessible Controlpedal - 5 short patch cables replaced by 10 long patch cables? 11 real possible combinations (4 Pedals) stored in 20 programs? And possibly no Buffer at the End? I don´t get it! There may be a sense in switching four rows of pedals but then it may be drain down the integrated powersupply. Please don´t hate me thomann but -I think this is a TOY

You just said all the reasons I never bought a switcher. But this has 5 built in isolated power jacks and it's cheaper than my current iso5. So all the sudden the slight convenience of the switcher makes sense because you're getting a value on the power.

@@ryndanriley5348 I had a Harley B PowerPlant. The voltage on one output was 8.95V and the other one was just barely 9.01V under load conditions. My pedals didn´t like that. Everything sounded somewhat dull and warm. A review of a Powerbank should enclude voltage measuring under load conditions. I would appreciate this!

@MrJLobster But what about the possibility of loops of pedals? Is that what you meant by "four rows of pedals"? I've just bought one of these to use with 10 pedals. I already have the PowerPlant ISO 1 Pro which powers 8 pedals, so when I came to add pedals and look at another power supply, this was a no-brainer. I'll have some pedals together in loops, and the switching options of banks is a whole new world for me. Can't wait to get it hooked up, but I'm having to wait for Santa to bring me a Harley Benton Spaceship 60XL board. Measure twice, order once- the 60 wasn't big enough! Got a lot of love for Harley Benton at the moment. When you can't fault the quality and the price is good, there's no room for snobbery over the name.

@@MrDblStop Thanks for asking! Now were talking serious! Switching small loops (or rows) of pedals is what makes sense in my opinion - but even then there will only be 11 different combinations possible if I´m calculating correctly. Nothing on my side against Harley Benton - it could be as well written One Control on the unit - it doesn´t change the fact that for 4 pedals is not r e a l l y a switcher necessary. If you got noisy old or bad bufffered pedals to switch out of your signal path -that would be a reason too but nothing like that is mentioned in Hennings vid. So I wanted to point that out. Have fun!

Hello! how do you think, will it works in stereo if you have 2 or 3 pedal and you have 1 empty switchers slot and you use this slot for the second output of your reverb for example?

I'd rather buy a better power supply than that. 4 Pedals, I don't need a switcher. It's a joke since it makes a small uncomplicated board more complicated.

not that clever design. I would have rather got rid of the mute and the tuner for another loop! 5 loops is so much better, who the heck cares about the mute function! just stick the tuner before the input and use it as usual!!

Let's make a highly misleading comparison to earn our bucks. €250 for a PSU? High end yes, but this is nowhere near the same quality and is simply a €10 off brand PSU from China... So is the switcher worth €78? Hmmm...
