My only concern being a parent, is the joycons seem like they can be easily damaged especially with the way they plug in now. Definitely will need a case. Also very happy about the backwards compatibility, as I own mostly physical games. It looks amazing though!

I think Mario Kart 9 is an open world game. I have nothing to base this on other than the starting/finish line is on a part of the street that looks sectioned off. With the rest of the street turning to the left but, the track going off road to the right.

This doesn't feel like a next gen console to me. I know the specs will be better, but specs alone don't make something next gen. As of now, this just looks like an upgraded Oled. It feels a lot like the 3DS to me, in terms of upgrades. It's still just a Switch, with some minor cosmetic changes. The Joycons slide and are magnetic now. The new Mario Kart game looks almost identical to MK8 Deluxe, the course shown was new. Apr 2 is a long ways away. Nintendo needs to really sell us on why the Switch 2 is next gen and what makes it different and special. We need to know why it's worth spending hundreds of dollars on another Switch.

Excited they finally put out the trailer but disappointed that it seems like release is far away and they didn’t show much in this trailer compared to switch 1 initial trailer but I guess that was expected. I hope this thing releases soon. Can’t even say I am excited for the February direct since it seems very likely it’s only a switch 1 direct and I don’t know if it will even be a general one. Especially after last year.
