Hi Zae, it's probably hidden. Tick the show hidden items box under the view tab. At the top of your user folder, there should be a view tab, click it and somewhere towards the right, there should be a box that says show hidden. Make sure that's ticked.

Hey, if you're still getting that pop-up instead of the "Get the EA App to continue" one, then that's a good sign. Make sure you close Origin all the way before pasting the lines into the local.xml file. You can just go to the bottom right of your screen to the windows Taskbar, and click the arrow. Right click on the Origin logo and hit quit

omfg it worked thank the heavens subscribing just because. You talked a little to fast so i slowed the vid down but i loved the video. Easy to follow instructions took me like 10 min. For the people who are missing the program data folder, to make it visible you have to go to control panel, then click on apperance and personalization then hit the view tab, make sure to click on show hidden folders. Now you can finish the steps in this video enjoy.

Most likely you didn't close Origin all the way before pasting in the XML file. The easier way is to go to the right of the windows taskbar, and click on the arrow, right click on the Origin logo and then hit quit Origin.

@@mistresstia That's what I'm talking about. It shouldn't take 30+ minutes for us to figure out what's wrong with EA app that day before we can even start playing the game. Also, packs just straight up missing ,is a big no no. No one should have to keep repairing the game or restarting the app every time they want to play Hopefully this fixes that for you, I just recently switched back to Origin, and I haven't had any problems so far. Sorry, I put this out so late on a Sunday, but I wanted to try it out first. Hope this makes your morning better😄

So what I did was uninstall EA, and shut my computer down overnight. I turned it back on the next day, downloaded EA again and it’s back working!!!

Hey. I'm not sure why it's not working for you, but there's no need to claim that everyone else is a liar because it's not working for you. I'll ask you a couple of questions, though. Did you delete other versions of Origin or the EA APP before trying to install? Did you copy the given lines somewhere in the middle of the xml? So, not at the very bottom or the very top? Did you make sure to download one of the archived Origin thin files? If you read through all the comments, not everyone has been able to get it to work 1st try. I know that not being able to play your game is frustrating, but that's because EA. I hope the questions asked lead you in the right direction of getting this to work for you.

ON EA support, they tell you to clear cache and restart your game, but you can also look for the new Origin fix for windows. Search for Origin fix for windows from around 3 weeks ago or more recent, if you'd rather just go back to Origin.

Hey, more than likely Origin wasn't closed all the way before pasting. An easier way to close Origin, is to go down to the right on the windows taskbar and click the arrow, then right click the origin logo and then click quit.

2 month later: this app still DOESNT FUCKING WORK. I'm not a Sims payer, but i used to buy Battlefield games on steam 2 years ago after i switched from console to PC gaming. The last time i used Origin was in 2022 when i replayed Dragon Age Inquisition, and now a friend invited me to play Bf4 with him, and guess what? This "temporarely lost connection" bullshit is driving me insane.

Unfortunately, EA has stopped support for older versions of Origin, so this won't work. I wish I had better news... Apparently, a possible fix for the lost connection is to turn on a VPN and restart the EA App. I would love if EA put out a launcher that actually worked though.

@@Nyxtressgames unfortunately, most good vpns are banned in my country =( I tried everything, even messing with register and DNS - still, no result. I mean, Origin was a bad launcher, sure, but EA app is even worse. I remember when Bethesda tried to push their own launcher - it was considered by me to be the worst, but EA somehow surpassed Bethesda in this regard. I'm not surprised Anymore by them releasing buggy and unfinished ges with absolutely worst online components, but this is a new level of dogshit: a AAA-publisher can't fix their launcher for three month or so. Looks like they dont care about their own fucking games working on PC...

Hey, do you have a recent backup of your EA folder. That's the folder that contains your mods, saves, and tray folder. If you have that backup, you can copy those folders to the one the game opens. usually its documents>Electronic Arts>The sims 4, and then you copy the same folder names from the backup to the folders here.

If you haven't resolved this by now...if you saved your original households to the gallery, then they should appear in your game no matter where you log in from. Otherwise, you need to have the saves or tray files from the versions that had these families and move it into the same folders on the other pc

Hey, this method is unlikely to work as of 6-19-2023. But you would uninstall EA before trying it.

I think they patched it up. I have tried using an older version of origin and followed the same steps but the messege still pops up. I guess I'll have to stick to EA T-T I actually wanted to download origin because I need to repair sims 4 but I can find the button nowhere in EA, I did click on the three dots in the icon in EA but they instead say,'manage on steam' and on steam there is no option to repair. If you know how to, then please let me know

It's weird that it's not letting you repair in EA app though. You can try right-clicking on sims 4 to see if the option pops up

Hey, sorry I couldn't reply earlier & Thank you for posting an update. And yes. If you have EA App or any other version or Origin, it will seek out the version of Origin you downloaded from the link and will just delete IT and force you to upgrade to EA App. I didn't realize that until after this video.

Cindy, here is another way to make the programdata folder visible : For the people who are missing the program data folder, to make it visible you have to go to control panel, then click on apperance and personalization then hit the view tab, make sure to click on show hidden folders. Now you can finish the steps in this video enjoy. That was a response from grandcanyon2. Programdata is a hidden folder and I didn't realize that at the time of making this video.

I'm glad battlefield 2042 started downloading, but the 7900xtx messing up motherboards is scary. I would probably have a meltdown if that happened, lol. I haven't been able to upgrade yet, but I don't play anything so intensive on PC to require an upgrade.

@@Nyxtressgames one reason is if you put the rendering scale to max lvl in some games on max graphics settings, the GPU could cause ur PC to crash, even more so if the GPU is over locked from the amd app aredlian app. The normal oc switch on on the GPU is fine.
