Loved your video... I prefer multipliers when shore fishing as well... no better and smoother sound and feel than a multiplier👍🏻

Great advise from switching from carp fishing to sea fishing I got 2x fixed spools 2x penn 525's..I booked a trip to Norway and the zziplex were rung for multies 😳😳the panic but after a week of constantly casting I learnt from the multies and as you said smooth casting is a must if you snatch its game over😂I'm just as confident now with my 525s as I am fixed spools. Nice one bud keep the vids coming mate. Cheers

Great advice ! In the process of getting used to a Abu 7001 . Needs patience but there is something about the feel of a multiplier .. haven’t used one since a Mitchel 602 .. 30 odd years ago ! Thanks again. Tight lines 👍

Great advice, just as fixed spools have come a long way ,multis have became more and more user friendly as well.

I use fixed spool on my kayak and multiplier from shore, Mainly 7ht. Never had any issues with overruns and I’ve removed all brake blocks. Multiplier to me feels much more controllable and smooth. The only thing they fall short on is retrieve rate.

I use the same Saltist & line - but I grew up at a time (many years ago!) when "coffee-grinders" were strictly for rivers and dams. We were "weaned" on Penn 500 Jigmasters and we simply HAD to master them. The one word you never used is: Practise!! And you should "aim" to cast about 45degrees upwards, not towards your "target." Kind regards.

Great advice here. Multipliers take some practice! All mine have centifugal brakes never felt the need for MAG brakes. If it ain't broke don't fix it. 😝😝😝. One tip I would give is oil the bearings regularly - the lube can fly off and dry out. Guaranteed to wreck the cast. Tight lines! 😊

I would only add that maybe start with heavier line as to me it felt much easier to control. Also research on how the amount and thickness of line on your spool affects the speed at which your reel will spin. Once that’s in your head, it will help you understand the science and you can adjust accordingly

Can I use multiplier with bite alarms and drop arm for deadbaiting pike

birdies happen to all of us at the best of times most of them can be picked out fairly esay once u find the right loop to pull at dont let them put you off sticking with a multi once u make the switch ive had some horrible ones over the years but for them situations i carry a spare real so i can pull my gear in by hand remove the rig and switch reals and then whilst still fishing 2 rods sit there and sort out the birdie

I would recommend to anyone changing from fixed to multi ! Diawa 7ht is the best ! Don't get lost in the world off rare mags and shims to increase casting distance ! Make that choice after you have learnt to cast a muti which is user friendly! And most important is when you load your reel with line you take your time !! You load your spool shit you will cast shit ! You can get away with a cheap rod with a fixed spool reel as the eyes are forgiving! A whipy rid with a multi is asking for birds nests!

I'm still using a Garcia Mitchell 386 from 40 plus years ago so I don't see how you can say the old fixed spool weren’t made strong enough to last and it’s not been wrapped in cotton wool either

My advice for people who want to learn how to cast, is to get the Holy Bible of casting Books , Long Distance Casting by John Holden, can't recommend the book enough, John Holden also has a set off casting video's on KZbin, the video's , plus the book, will have you casting long distances in no time, John Holden , was one off the early Pioneer's of Long distance casting, and has far has i know, he has been the only one who has written a proper Book on the subject .

Too much hassle with a multiplier in the real fishing world. Fixed spool is grief free. After 30 years of multiplier use, I switched to Fixed.
