@@nancyhaun The young union members voted on twelves 3 years ago to get more time off in a year but it's tough for us old timers. My schedule is like this: 3 nights, 3days off, 4 days, 7 days off, 4 nights, 3 days off, 3 nights, 1 day off. All anyone looked at was the 7 days in a row off each month. Aal I do on my days off is sleep 12-15 hours each day and I'm still tired. It wasn't like that when we worked eights. Now we switch days to nights twice as often in a month. 2 more years and I'm out of this hellhole!

@@poowg2657 Same thing happened at Certainteed. 12 hours is just two long-when forced to work 12 a shift at the nursing home it was a killer!

Counted and got 29. Great videos. Was told the train derailed there a few days back. If true did anyone get video of the rerailing or was it in an area not accessible if it happened.

Hi Nancy, I think I counted 35 cars and 2 engines. When you head down state, are you going to visit Owosso to see the The Pere Marquette Railway Steam Locomotive No. 1225, Polar Express? If you find a few extra minutes, take a short ride across M-71 over to Durand and visit The Durand Union Station. It has 2 of the Cone shaped roofs some call Witches' Hats, but I got corrected by a South Lyon resident who had just completed renovation of their Witches' Hat Depot Museum. So I don't make that mistake anymore. But they do look neat. OK, FB. Thank You! ben/ living under Da bridge Eh.

I have yet to see the 1225-every year I plan on it but when the tickets come up for sale I can't. My brother worked on the 1225 when it was in the early years. I am going to try again this year and hope to get to Durand also. But there is alot of family to visit and grandchildren so it looks like a busy trip!

Another CSS car they just look so out of place up there. I believe it was just shy of 30 cars which is a pretty good head count. If those cars with the iron oxide red tinted ties are coming down from the Mesabi it's a long Trek as you can no longer cut across the top of Wisconsin so the best you can do is come down to Neenah and come up the other side.

Thank you for this video of the Canadian National's L'Anse, Michigan local picking up empty cars and delivering loaded cars to the Koppers plant in L'Anse, Michigan on 12 March 2024, Nancy. The crew had a lot of empty cars coming out of Kopers and a lot of loaded cars going back into the plant. Do you have any idea what might be in the covered hopper cars? I wonder if the covered hipper cars are for the CertainTeed plant. I just did a Google search and found that the CertainTeed plant makes mineral fiber ceiling tiles. What CertainTeed produces would explain why boxcars are going in and out on the L'Anse Local.

Generally the box cars are empty and for weight distribution. Yes Certainteed gets deliveries also. Perlite I think but dont quote me!
