Omg I've been searching for someone here in the philippines who speaks about sustainable fashion and I'm so glad that I found you. I just recently watched the movie "A True Cost" and it made me changed my perspective. I will follow your journey ate and I hope to learn more from you. Thank you so much! 😊

When switching to an eco-friendly or sustainable lifestyle: "We don't need a few people who do it perfectly but we do need thousands or millions of people who do it imperfectly"

Hello! Pretty late now but I just wanted to say that after watching this video (and some of your fashion vids as well) about a month ago, I have quit from buying from fast fashion brands and started purchasing from ethical and sustainable local brands here in the ph!! Glad youtube recommended your channel ☆

This was super informative! I'm just starting my sustainable fashion journey and I've been trying to educate myself more. I feel guilty sometimes for not being 100% sustainable so it's really helpful to hear about your journey and recognize that it's a process that takes time.

Natasha Mortensen wow thank you so much! yes sometimes i still do feel guilty as well but it really is a long long process and what really matters is that we’re trying to do something in our own little ways 💚

Thank you for this! My favorite youtuber Mei Yan inspired me to stop buying fast fashion as well as vegan/cruelty free makeup, skincare & more, but it’s hard to give up buying clothes I would really love, so I really needed this video to give me more reasons to go through with it fully ♡︎

agree! it’s really hard to quit fast fashion since sustainable is so elitist. even with online thrift shops you can’t miss pieces that are so cute but come from fast fashion brands. i shop from style thief on IG.

can you please make a video of the impacts of buying clothes from shopee and lazada? i feel like if you’re going to buy fast fashion, you’re better off buying from stores like forever 21 compared to random retailers and wholesalers in shopee, or better yet, buy and support local brands. so many youtubers are making shopee haul videos and it makes me cry internally because the clothes definitely look 10x more cheaper than the clothes you’d find in known fast fashion stores. i know it’s because it’s affordable for them but there’s still a difference between only being able to afford those prices vs overconsumption.

Mary Louise hi! thank you so much for the suggestion 🤗 i’ve been meaning to make a video about it actually, but i want to be prepared n well researched before uploading the video so i’ll try to read even more about it when i get the chance 💕 for people whose only option talaga is shopee because of budget and accessibility, i’d say it’s alright i think! if they’re only buying what they actually need i guess that’s fine? i’m not entirely sure pero big online fast fashion stores most probably source their pieces from the same wholesalers / manufacturers in china! i definitely agree though w your last statement, some people just buy things nalang because it’s cheap and not because they need it which is so so so destructive for the environment in the long run 🥺 this whole instagram influencer culture really fuels consumerism and even im still guilty about that sometimes huhu but yes thank you for your insights! i’m hoping i have the time to make more videos about this :’) people like you make it so encouraging to make videos hahaha i enjoy reading comments like these so thank u again!

In your opinion, do you think Uniqlo is a bit more sustainable compared to other fast fashion brands?
@chIoeheart

hmm im not super sure if it is more sustainable than other brands considering they all fall under fast fashion but according to good on you’s (an app/website that provides info abt how sustainable and ethical brands are) rating, uniqlo has set some good environmental policies but there is no evidence that it provides a living wage for its workers. you can read more about it here! directory.goodonyou.eco/brand/uniqlo hope i helped 💚
