My family had the first land grant to the cove in 1818. Dad was born there and he and mom are buried there at Missionary Baptist. Sadly, in the 20's, the government forced many families off of their land and created a fiction. The cove was home to so many more families. There were schools and stores. It was a hard life, but as you said, it was a loving home. I got to go through the cove with dad's brother Kara, born in 1913. He told me about life there, where they lived, trick or treating by lantern light on Halloween, Christmas when a stocking with an orange and nuts was special. I'm glad you love it there.

You guys need to slide up and visit the real hollow of The Waltons. You can see Earl Hamners home and a real replica of the Walton house from the show. There are many back farms and roads to explore. Ike’s store and many other places to see at the Walton’s museum! It was a great time. It’s in Schuyler, VA.

We like Cades Cove but not the traffic when it takes hours to get to the Loop and then around it. Usually just drive through but have only twice have seen bear there. You were fortunate to see so many. Thanks for taking us on your hike. You kids keep us happy. God Bless

Just for a history lesson when I was a kid, my mom brought dried corn that she grew in her garden to cades cove mill when it was running.

Love Cades Cove. Have seen bears also was stocked by a bear while hiking back from seeing a water. fall. Love walking through the cemeteries. Did you know if you have ancestors buried in them you can also be buried there.

They close Cades Cove road to cars on Wednesdays starting in May. We took our ebikes last year. It was great!Have you ever seen the synchronizeous fireflies?

I’m sure you are not still in the area but the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail is a 6 mile driving trail with a similar experience to Cades Cove. You enter by turning at the Space Needle in Gatlinburg.

Nice tour via video. Good see you out on the motor bike. Harley riders are not the only Iron Butt riders (I am). I ride with those on all brands. Logged many 1000 miles runs in under 24 hrs. with the IBA (Iron Butt Association). My Indian friends tell me that the Indian is a smoother ride though. You should have it made on that motorcycle.

Doing all the things! You got to see bears!! We've been to the smokies a few times we always hit Cades Cove hoping to see some bear. Never been that lucky.

We go through Cades Cove every trip to the area. There’s a gravel road (can’t remember the name) to the right at one of the churches on the main loop. That road will take you back to the Townsend area and it’s a great way to get away from the crowds.

My favorite place in the smokies. We usually pack a picnic, drive the loop about 4pm and then park and wait for the bears and deer to come out. Such a peaceful place. Also love the Roaring Fork Motor Trail in Gatlinburg.

We love following your videos! Cades Cove is our home. We lived there when I was born. Joe and I are both descendants from the Heritage families of Cades Cove, the first white settlers there. Joe from the Oliver Family and me from the Sparks Family. We are currently retired and living full time in our RV since March 2022. We just left Townsend, TN a week ago. Hope to meet you two someday!

Kathy, not to sound morbid. But do you plan to be buried there? I asked a volunteer ranger there while visiting the church and cemetery who could still be buried there. SMNP is our quick getaway from the Florida summers!

You guys are so lucky, every time we go the cabins we're closed and I have not seen a bear yet. Me and my son only live 2 hours away and like to take day trips when we can. I miss my road king and riding the Dragon Tail. There is also a waterfall in Cades Cove that I have not made it to yet, but sister has and it is beautiful.

Cades Cove is one of our favorites! Was there last week! It was a grist mill for grinding cornmeal that you saw and the stone wheels were for used in the grinding! There is so much to see and do in those mountains. We love your videos and love following all your adventures!
