I love Cream, but in my opinion they were definitively a live band. Therefore I would strongly recommend their live albums like the second half of the "Wheels Of Fire" album ("Crossroads" 👍) or Live Cream I/II instead.

Our high school garage band won the local talent show covering Badge and White Room in 1971. And yes it has Clapton and Harrison written all over it. I played the Harrisonesque intro to the bridge… “Yes I told you that the light goes up and down Don't you notice how the wheel goes 'round?”

I saw the very last Cream show at Madison Square Garden on 10/11/2005. Mind still blown all these years later. I was in the first chair, row 17 of the first stadium seats section... There was a leak in the ceiling of Garden, dripping onto me and my chair. The usher moved me down to the floor:ended up 15 feet from Jack Bruce for the entire show. Been to well over 100 concerts... this show was in my top 3 of my lifetime. So glad you got to see them, too! ❤❤❤❤

At this moment when this was released, Cream showed they were the original Supergroup, 3 great musicians at the peak of their powers and I would argue that to this day the only band to better them for sheer virtuosity would be Led Zeppelin. No one else comes close to producing an output so much greater than the sum of their constituent parts.

@@David-iv6jeEric Clapton once said that his job was to keep Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker from killing each other. From everything that’s been said about them, it seems that Jack Bruce was a very nice guy, and Ginger Baker.....wasn’t. There is an excellent 2012 documentary about Ginger called “Beware Of Mr. Baker” you can find on youtube, and he’s so unlikeable and temperamental when he’s talking that I was amazed this documentary got released. He was an incredible musician, but I would’ve never agreed to work with him.

I used to have the Fleetwood Mac Rumors Album that was sealed for the longest time. Any way i just moved into my first apartment and had a party to celebrate, then a friend asked if i had the Rumors album . Yeah i said, its never been opened.(at the time before i got robbed there was at the last count just over 9,800 albums so yeah, i had the Rumors album). We opened it , put it on the turntable, set the stylus in the groove, but Fleetwood Mac wasn't what started coming from the speakers. It was Cream Strange Brew. We looked at each other like what the fucks going on here. I looked to see if i had it in the right mode, and it was , we looked at the label as it was spinning, the needle was in the groove but it read Fleetwood Mac . The label was correct but i'll be damned it was side 2 of Disraeli Gears on side 1 of my Fleetwood Mac album.! I flipped it over to side 2 And it was ok . Side 2 was side 2 of the rumors album. But that made it even more mind blowing for us. After that party i used to freak out other friends whenever it was possible. Then15 years later i came home from the national bowling tournament in Reno( i was a Bowling Stone for 15 years) and my pad had been broke into and every thing was gone. And i mean everything . Over 9 thousand albums , my 8 thousand dollar stereo system, over 6 thousand hot wheels i had been collecting since i was little , including the original sweet 16 in the original packages, all my furniture ,bed , clothes . Even the dirty ones i kicked to the corner before i left. I was Wiped out They even took the carpet and the cabinets. I still feel the pain of all those albums being stolen. That tore my heart out. The music was my life. That's what made me what i was. It took 20 plus years of my life to gather. That was 24 years ago,

For band puns, they did have an album called "Fresh Cream". More Cream? Try their covers of blues standard "Born Under a Bad Sign". A slight sidetrack - if you like Cream and you like Jethro Tull, you might like to try "Summer Day" by Blodwyn Pig. They were a band founded by original Tull member Mick Abrahams but had a heavier, bluesier feel.

another of my all-time fave bands and still sad I never got to see them perform live. Don't know if the poet peter brown wrote some of the lyrics for this one but he did write the incredible ones bruce sings on white room.⚛😀❤

There is a terrific reunion concert from a couple decades back which I bootlegged off of TV. At the Hammersmith Odiom, something like that. Lots of great banter, and while Ginger Baker was running for local political office in his town.
