Great kit as is everything from SW and I know you are showcasing the solid luggage but having had a full set of Bumots on my GSA I prefer soft now. It’s the weight and the look I don’t like, I intend using the soft luggage with the same racks and a smaller top box or bag on a SW rack with adapters. Regarding the security of the soft bags I use the Kriega straps which are easy to use.

I'm also a fan of soft luggage, but I still think these look stylish. Have another hard luggage option to show you soon, and they weigh a lot less.

10:35 My AGV full helmet (XL size) plus sena on the side fits in the top box sitting upright. I don't have the inner bag though so that might make a difference.

I went for the soft sysbags on my GT because they are not as bulky unless packed. It also prevented a few scratches when I dropped the bike when taking off lol. The sysbags were unharmed but I reckon hard panniers would have received a dent. I have the same top box but black.

Yeah the soft bags are better for dropping the bike, they have a bit more give, dropped mine last year🤣

I almost bought these in black for my bike, they look absolutely great quality wise. For me personally the dealbreaker was that i have to use the key every time to open them. U cant leave the boxes unlocked. If they would fix that it would absolutely be the kit id go for as well with the detachable racks.

I agree. I have this exact same kit on my Tiger 900 Rally Pro. It’s a real nuisance to have to keep using the key every time when opening the luggage cases

What's the max payload per box you reckon? I've got the 2018 800 XCA that came stock with the Triumph cases, but max is only 5kg per box. Guess it's because the parts that holds the panniers onto the racks is some hard plastic compound and not metal like your one's.

I've just got myself a new 1200 RE, came with free Triumph panniers and top box.. Can I ask, what is the benefit of the SWMotech over the originals I have.? Besides the pannier rack and seperate locks the boxes look the same? Just curious.

No benefits as such, just after market with a different design. I'm not familiar with the mounting system for the Triumph panniers, is the framing fixed or quick release?

Quality pieces of kit although looks like an awful lot of extra weight the time you put on all the ironmongery and boxes - and that's before your actual luggage.....Think I will stick with my 50 litre rear seat soft bag and 11 litre tank bag and pack sparingly.....

Of course it adds some weight, but the bike handles it with ease. It's all personal preference of course. How you want your bike to be packed for your longer travels, just merely show casing them to you as an option👍

@@thelikeablerider8800 how do you find it torque wise, was looking at the 300 model here at the minute, but not sure if it would be too much for bike stuff, only reason I ask is I do a bit on the cars in the house also and would need something that was versatile between both.

It has three settings so I use the lowest which is still too much for the smaller bolts. If you're careful it works fine👍😜

When GIVI made these racks they used a unique, 3 sided keys. You did not need to buy the special locking fastener.

Something about different size panniers on each side of the bike just messes with my head, ocd level 12.

Think if you would two of the same size, then it would even less symmetrical in terms of how far they stick out from the bike. Its done this way to to accommodate for the exhaust space. If you then put another 37 litre pannier of the left hand side, then the right would stick out more than the left. I do understand what you mean though👍😎

Hi like the triumph 1200 just not keen on all that scaffolding for panniers. My multistrada has one support with two bolts then just slides into slots built into bike piece off piss .ps aluminium panniers always remind me of school dinners 😂

All the scaffolding is quick release, so when you're not using the pannies, the bike looks clean👍😜

Nicht übel, aber mir gefallen die original Triumph (Givi) Koffer besser. Schon wegen der Gleichschließe mit dem Zündschlüssel! Nur beim Tankrucksack setze ich auch auf SW-Motech!

Hard luggage is great for security, especially when carrying the amount of expensive kit that you do, but filtering (not applicable in Germany I believe) becomes very difficult. Anybody following you now will bound to think you're riding s GS! 😲

Yeah you'd struggle with filtering, yes that's illegal here although many still do it. These would be great for longer Tour, highly practical.

Filtering on a GS, with vario panniers, is far easier, if they are closed down, as they fit much closer to the bike! 🙂
