Hello I am the antagonist advocate some guy on the internet with a passion for stories and a preference for thier villians.
Through this channel I'm hoping to give a look into a bunch of anime I've missed (and maybe some I haven't) and put a spotlight on the writing in them that makes us love them so much.
I'm planning on watching anime, possibly cartoons, and movies with who knows what else in the future.

your style of commentary is literally the only one i can stand usually, with you giving actual criticisms and different incites besides just repeating what the man character said because it was "funny". It gives more life and feeling of interaction that is almost feels like a live stream n a good weird way.

And thus we reach the end of Season 1. It's even more uphill from here! Honestly I think you're the first reactor I've seen who's actually known Kayaba's movie references, even failing for the Waterworld bait. It's once again refreshing to see someone actually getting the references put in the series. And yeah, the ending here does a good job both parodying and fixing some of the issues from SAO season 1a ending. Kayaba does indeed not remember why he even did it in the first place. It also has the nice trope of having the OP song playing during the climactic fight. Onward, to season 2!

A guy called TheFlamingShark actually got every one of these references, even the reality one, though he thought at first that he got confused because both answers are right. Then he had a crisis wondering what he was doing with his life. Unfortunately, I've never been able to find it again. I think he deleted his SAOA reaction.

40:28 actually, the more I listen “coming home” when watch SAOA the more I understand how accurate that song to that particular moment in the show (both proper and abridged). I love Daisuke Ishiwatari, his songs is always hit it in right places.

Back when this episode released, it felt to me that they might not go further than that in the anime, since it felt so much like an ending, but this little coin noise right at the end gave me hope they would attempt to make the Aincrad arc better. So glad they did.

the only thing, the only singular thing i hate about this show is the time it takes for the new episodes to come out. i worry about how sustainable it is to let out an episode every 1 to 2 years or having them get burn out like TFS did with buu. on the other hand that time gives way to sooooooo much quality it's insane like i actully want more sao just to see what saoa does with it. aside from that this shit is peak comedy/parody.

You can buy an arm for your mic for like $2-$5. Just saying, it's a bit distracting as a viewer and honestly I'm feeling my arm getting tired looking at it. Sorry. Edit: apparently $10 is the cheapest in the US. but hey, if you want to continue this reaction thing, it'd be a good investment.

The problem with the first season of SAO is that they did it too well lol. It was too realistic in that Kirito starts out as just this gamer kid whos using games for escapism as we all do a bit. Then he chooses to become an oucast to foster unity amongst the others giving himself the label beater to take the pressure off the beta testers. Then the first time he thinks he might be able to have friends and be part of a guild he watches them all die horrifically with shades of wondering if he was at fault. So he spends most of the first season traumatised and trying to find his way back to normality, along with all the heroes journey and growing up stuff lol. The Kirito from the second season is a lot more upbeat and heroic.

It’s.. not really analysing, actually. It’s just getting distracted. For analysis, you need to do it *after* you deal with the story itself, not right in the middle every half a minute!
