Cant agree more with the conclusion After reaching the end of the story, they’ve setup the endgame for a giant grindfest but with a blatant lack of content and reward I had high hopes for this game so I’m a bit disappointed

Yea. It’s like they banked on the fans for early support to then use that a spring board for the better content. This is one of those games that I wouldn’t have minded playing through a few month of early access tbh - Azario

I agree. As someone who liked Hollow Realization and Fatal Bullet, Fractured Daydream while fun in short bursts, is severely lacking in long time survivability, especially if your not a fan of the SAO franchise. With the other SAO games stuff, at least they were a bunch of stuff to do in the post game such as DLC, end game preparation, new game plus, bonding etc, with a addition to non live service multiplayer. Fractured Daydream post game is just wrestling with the RNG live service system, while being a repetitive grind feast. Also, the fact the game came out before stuff like Sparking Zero and Metaphor ReFantazio as well other bigger titles doesn't help things either.

The grind is short tbh,they are prepping you for the lv90 abyss dungeons on the 17th where you only have 1 life,but by that time most of the players should be rank 100,it only took me 4 days to reach rank 100 & others did it sooner

I played the beta, from what I got from it,It was alright but I feel like it’s not worth full price tbh, I’ll get it when it goes on sale tho.

yea, 20-30 i'd say is a nice sweet spot, but I hope with that discount they pack on a ton of DLC ha. There's potential here, but it's all about the keep the community happy with stuff at this point.

Idk 10 to 30 is mega cheap if anything 50 to 60 bucks is fine i can hear by say 120 is a scam that dlc better have so much shit in it and it comes on the 17th @NoisyPixelNews

As someone who has played since early access and has seen Leafa and YUNA as top damage dealers in most matches, I disagree with support being a weak class. I am a YUNA player who has gotten most enemies defeated and most damage (1.1mil) in the same coop quest.

100% agree with the conclusion. What's there is an incredibly fun foundation I just hope they have plans to support this. I'd even be open to it being long term as long as they plan to balance some classes out like you mentioned. The beta sold me into buying it day one and I've been enjoying myself but I don't know why they'd make a multiplayer focused title with so little content.

I liked the game but it made me install Fatal Bullet again. Everything Fractured Daydream does, Fatal Bullet did it way better in my opinion. Maybe it will get better once they add more dlc to the mix, but right now there is almost no content and the content that's there is even locked behind endless feeling grinds. Also, here in Europe the game seems to have no playerbase. It's rare to find 20 players, and it is very common to run dungeons with like 3 bots which is not that much fun.

I like that you seem down to earth and like a real gamer (not just doing it for the job like some game journalists), buying the DLC and enjoying the game even if it's not perfect is good signs that you're just enjoying the game properly without the DLC hate bandwagon or the negativity. Good stuff and I'll keep an eye on future content.

I can completely agree with this review, there should’ve been way more story put in. It seems they had a great idea with were they could have taken it, hopefully they’ll add more down the line, hoping so.

2:44 heads up, you can actually skip dialogue and cutscenes to make campaign go by faster if people just want to get into the online

Still wondering to pick this one up or not....still...can't ever go wrong with Granblue fantasy re-link...such a amazing jrpj with a great story and good all round characters...and despite what old mate said...there is plenty to do especially with online play.

This game seems like such a risky purchase being a mostly online experience. There's no way this game will still have an active community in a month or two. At this moment steam only has 3400 people playing. The asking price seems too high, but if you want to play the game as intended you need to get in before the population evaporates. Wait for a sale and the community will already be gone. I actually rather enjoy sao games, but this one is just confusing. They don't have the popularity to support a nearly wholly online experience.

It's MULTI-PLATFORM, PC can play with Console, and even handheld like the Switch. And switching Regions is instant This won't die anytime soon, just look at the Queues in-game for every boss and every map, it fill up in seconds.

@Tsukaani yes, it's still relevant especially when you have a handheld. Most friends I know play using either a steam deck, ally x, or switch. I play on the Legion Go, so I play when I have free time.

This game reminds me of phantasy star online episode 1 and 2. I loved that style of game 20 years ago, but would I love it now? I’d be willing to take a chance for 30 dollars but not 60

just one thing, this is the first SAO game based of the events of the anime and not the original story of the gameverse that all the other SAO games are based off of.

I really enjoyed fatal bullet even though it had 99 problems. This game looks like it's building off of fatal bullet but they didn't seem to learn anything from its problems. I really want to buy this game but I'm finding it hard to spend $75 on it right now. And if I wait for a sale any online players will probably be gone by then.

It's a fun and decent game for what's it's worth, however the real issue with Fractured Daydream aside from limited post game content, is that the game released as the worst time possible, behind some of the biggest JRPG and non JRPG titles of 2024. Slient Hill 2 Dragon Ball Sparking Zero Metaphor ReFantazio Ys X Nordics Romancing Saga 2 With these titles alone, it's hard to pay attention to Fractured Daydream in the long term.

Ya i was expecting that score maybe a little lower . If they gave you a cac and the ability to change out skills and chose class and witch realm the character is from and had a more MMO feel to it i think it could have been an easy 8 or 9 but given the lack of content and and button mashing mechanic i feel like this game was an over hyped cash grab at best .

Damn, three major reviews made today. You guys are working fast! Also, don't know what anyone was expecting, it's a SAO game. Not even mid-level quality is guaranteed. But the fact that these games might sell just well enough to justify Bamco still making them is incredible all things considered.

I hate the fact that if you play offline, you have ZERO access to cosmetics you earn via events, shop and co-op quests. That hurts the game in my eyes cause if the servers if the game shut down in the far future and this isn't fixed, all those cosmetics you erned online are a complete waste. -_-

Okay so a bit of context for those who don't know including the person who made the video *Last Recollection* is the Finale of the *Gameverse* Timeline while *Fractured Daydream* takes place in the as of yet *Cannon Timeline* this means all the game specific plot points didn't happen and ALOT of characters have died/are dead This is interesting because Strea a *Gameverse* character is the first DLC potentially introducing her to the cannon proper

Well dang. This is a good review. Saving my money, thanks. I enjoy SAO and was hoping to hear this has a lot of content. I'll keep a tab on it incase some big updates happen but won't hold my breath. On sale? Maybe. Full price? Absolutely not. They advertised different deluxe packs like it's a Ubisoft game.

Love the content, love the gameplay, hate that there's no real leveling system. Also, there NEEDS to be more active skills to swap in your kit.

There actually is a leveling system lol. Your characters get stronger by ranking them up

@doges4715 resets every run, not a real leveling system, they don't unlock any new abilities either. It's just an instance based progression and the character ranks unlock very small increases to stats that can't be distributed

called this out on a couple ppls channels who were super giddy about the drop and gave this game super ratings... ppl need to chill out and really digest something before sucking off devs and giving games 10/10 for like 2 minutes of fun. after rank 40 the game reallly drags on, super lame.
