I still have a theory about Yui. In the Japanese finale there was a credits cutaway gag where Heathcliff explains there were some incomplete game mechanics that were scrapped. One of the mechanic was the ability to have a family of NPC children. My theory is that technically YUI was a formless AI, was compelled by her programming to try to help the players, but YUI had to use the inactive code to spawn herself into the game in a more physical form. Plus as someone who use to write computer code the other problem is YUI is part of the game code, not a “foreign entity” that she said she was just declared. It explains why YUI was able to spawn in so close to Kirito & Asuna and why she looks the way she does. It’s a plot hole that the Abridged series fixed in the end if I remember correctly.

SAO Abridged improves on base SAO so much that I now find it hard to watch the original when I could be watching SAO with a better paced out story, funnier moments and actual captivating character moments. Can't wait for you to see EP 11 which is peak.

Spot on - this is why I tell people that are curious about SAO and SAO:A to watch the original first since the Abridged starts as a parody and instead becomes a full-blown improvement with the great pacing and continuity, even if the characters are significantly different personalities. The original isn't as bad as many people say it is, but it's definitely flawed - the anime version of the "turn your brain off" Hollywood action flick, it's still got plenty of entertainment value... the Abridged keeps all the good while removing or improving upon the parts that were weak in the original. The biggest con of SAO:A is waiting for more to come out...

Trying to catch all the jokes is one of the reasons I watch and re-watch all of the saoa reactions. Everyone gets different parts of it and lots of people pick up on things in their first watch that I don’t catch watching it all 100 times. Also I love the mother’s basement Sao analysis. I recommend it to anyone who watches the abridged

To this day, this is my favorite episode of the SAO Abridged series, although episode 16 and 17 are pretty high up for how well they fix the Alfheim arc. Episode 10 is also the absolute funniest, especially for Yui's impeccable roasts.

I love how believable this is compared to the original. These are two dumb kids who rushed WAY too fast into their relationship and neither is mature enough to just acknowledge it and talk about it. After SAO Abridge's 17 eps, you HAVE to check out Log Horizon Abridge. The Abridged Series is only 12 ep long and takes place just after SAO player base gets trapped ingame.

I mean... they're not actually connected. They threw in a reference as a one off joke because everyone was bugging them about it being connected to SAOA, but they've pretty much said LHA is it's own thing. Still a GREAT series and worth checking out

Also, Fate/Stay Unlimited Blade Works abridged. If you know the original, that one is the pinnacle of an abridged. Where SAO abridged is basically its own story that one does the parody and referencing part at such an unbelievably high level one has to draw their hat (or whatever would be the best equivalent if no hat is ready).

Imho, the original anime should've ended after they wake up from SAO. Besides the bland protagonist, I liked that his romantic interest wasn't a damsel in distress, just there as a fan service. I liked the twist, where they don't actually go all the way to the 100th floor to "beat" the MMO and leave. These were the first 15 episodes, btw, not season 1. Then the second part of the first season just completely overules that. Asuna just spends the whole time trapped in a literal cage, the new antagonist is just a creepy dude... the whole story could've been resolved by removing her damn headset. Or, if he couldn't for some reason, a simple call to the police. "This creepy dude is keeping a teenager prisoner in VR, if you don't believe me please investigate it on your own".

Continuity error here, Sasha says all the kids in the orphanage are Parents in the real world. Kinda doesn't make sense when Kayaba forcefully changed the Avatars to look like the rl version of the user. How did the adults using kid avatars get out of that?

Never get the appeal of Sword Art Online, the protagonist is to broken, and the girls are brain dead for Kirito. Thank goodness there is a fighting game where I could beat him up, because he won't lose with his skills and plot armor.
