Ive eaten Mako sharks in Spain we call them “ Marrajos” and let me tell you they are delicious. Texture wise, is as though you took fish meat and gave it the meatiness of pork or beef. Would highly recommend to anyone who hasn’t tried them.

I’m a Lisc Capt, and I’ve looked down on this type of fishing. Not the seaman, just how many times these lines circle the globe. Way too many IMHO. Tuna almost unable to make it back and now Swords. 6:34 and the other species accidentally caught. My opinion was formed 36 years past. I pray regulation can keep it under control.

In 1999 an American fishing captain was charged with murder for killing one of his crew. He pled self defense and was acquitted. They had pulled into Trepassey, Newfoundland allegedly for a replacement part.

THEY SAY ONE OF THE MOST DANGEROUS FISHING AREAS... YET NOT ONE OF THE CREW, WEARING A P.F.D. ON A OPEN DECK ??? UNBELIEVABLE... IN THE UK, IT IS MANDATORY ON COMMERCIAL FISHING VESSELS...

Keep in mind this series was filmed almost 20 years ago. Safety standards have probably changed. Also, PFDs back then may have been too bulky/heavy for the crew to move around properly on deck

All that bs safety shit purpose driven by government destroying fishing industries by 1000 paper cuts. Your out there to earn a living and one of the main reasons you become a commercial fisherman is because of freedom, getting away from the relentless mundane indoctrinated programmed land life and most importantly living on the edge and respecting Mother Nature in all her power & glory, makes you feel really alive

He's dumb. Makes rash, not thought through, decisions. Dangerous to his crew even. Might be a good fisherman (relative when he can't seem to find fish and harrasses other vessels) but a shitty businessman. A happy crew is more efficient than a berated one. On the other hand, he seems to be chronically depressed and in need of genuine help. Seems like a downer to hang out with. Hope he gets that help. There'd be more smiles in his future

Linda Greenlaw is a legend in the business. When swordfishing hit its peak in the 80s and 90s, she was absolutely nailing it as captain. One catch saw the lowest deckhand walk away with $10,000 for one trip (30 days). She's hands-down one of the best captains on the entire East Coast. Dick
