A friend of mine had a sword cane growing up. It had a silver ring on the cane. You turned it to unlock it, blade would slide out. Neat stuff

I am not Britta herself, but her boyfriend. Here in Germany weapons, which are disguised as another thing, are not allowed for many decades now. Which a special licence, some collectors, but mostly museums, own such things. In a small village in Swabian Alb mountains, there once, up to 1960s/ early 1970s there had been an astonishing number of whipmaking companies. There was ( perhaps still is) a small museum about whips. In the collection, there was a whip, once owned by a coach/ wagon driver, in the shaft or handle a daggerlength spike is hidden. Being a freight coachdriver was even in Germany sometimes not a safe job. A greatgrandfather of me had this job, and my father told me, that his grandfather one day had to cross ,Schurwald' heights and at a lonesome forest road, he got troubles with two strange men. After this incident he bought ,brass knuckles'.

The Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Offensive Weapons) Order 1988, ISBN 0-11-088019-6 also made it illegal to trade in sword canes in England and Wales. However, antique swordsticks which are 100 years old or older are exempt. This was the case here. Also the UK under the Offensive Weapons Act 2019 because they are exempt from the Criminal Justice Act 1988 if they are over 100 years old. A person is not allowed to carry them on in public though

Swordsticks are so much more elegant and actually have a proper handle. They are just damn cool. These cane swords I've seen are just ridiculous. How do you use a sword with a cane handle? Cane handles look ridiculous as it is. Thanks for the video. Next time I am in UK...
