With 7.1, we now take the missile blast proc in tier 1 and replace one of our fillers with it. There is a more complicated powershot rotation that we will dig into that does more damage, but if you're used to just running this rotation, you can absolutely just replace rapid shot with missile blast proc to keep the extra mobility.

Revisiting, he has a video from 6.X exploring the powershot rotation. It just replaces the filler-Unload-filler block with a powershot-filler-powershot-filler block. It uses the same GCDs but generates more consistent Supercharge while having similar heat generation. I haven't compared powershot vs fUf on the dummy using the missile/supercharge choice yet

This has helped me come to making an important decision on a secondary combat style for my tank. Will select the merc for it IOT enable a [tanking, dps'n, & heal'n] platform capability so as to accommodate riding it all out on 1 toon. Thanks again Mark!

I've read that this an F Tier on several websites, Mercenary/Innovative .. Wut? I'm not sure what game the others are playing, I LOVE this class. I came back about a month and a half ago, played 3 other toons at lvl 80 before this, Sith Warrior/Fury, Sith Sorc/Lightning, Jedi Guardian/Vigilance. I spent about a week on all of them to get the feel to understand how they work. Before I know it, mobs are down and out, I'm standing there.. that's it? Who ever rates the playability of classes has no idea what they are talking about. My Merc is now my new main. Thanks for this vid!

Thanks for the video mate! I was playing Arsenal and I don't know a good rotation for that so it was nothing but overheat, overheat, overheat. Now I've switched to Innovative Ordnance and using your rotation and it is going very well. I also never knew that the character now giggles lol, I thought that was an Operative thing. I always wondered how Bounty Hunters were doing it and now I know :P

So a couple of questions. 1: is the power shot rotation replacement for the F-U-F still higher sustained damage? 2: kinda goes with the previous question, where does fusion missile line up in the filler priority for single target. Ei, during normal rotation vs supercharge >30% vs sub 30% vs supercharge

Power shot rotation no longer provides a DPS increase, theorycrafters believe this is due to the removal of the amplifiers. Fusion missile is only used for AOE in fillers. If used consistently, it’ll destroy your heat if used in the usual rotation and isn’t a DPS increase. From my testing, electro net usually comes off cooldown right as supercharged gas is coming off cooldown, if you want to hold off on it until supercharge you can. For the gas cylinder proc, it doesn’t just apply the damage, but it ticks the damage too. The first option in that row is AOE focused, and even then it’s a very small range. The third option is fine for leveling or burst, but for bosses it’s going to significantly reduce the amount of supercharged gas stacks you get and botch your heat in the process.

@@Biggsgaming hmm interesting. It seems this update really toned down a lot of the on the fly decisions that you made with IO. The fusion missile bit is surprising, it was very often used during burst phases in 6.0, but that might be again due to amplifiers going the way of the dodo.

Hatred/Serenity doing a butt-ton of damage is very RNG dependent right now due to how important using Recklessness/Potency is. The cooldown of Recklessness/Potency is random between 70-ish seconds and 18 seconds depending on how frequently your DoTs are deal crit damage. It's also about timing your second Death Field/FiB perfectly to prevent clipping Deathmark/Supression stacks. If you're consistently lucky, you can get 30K+ DPS, however, most of the time you won't be hitting for that hard.

Hahahahahahah, not by a long shot. Mercenary/Commando dps has issues currently They're still fine for any content under Master Mode ops and the newer Veteran ops

So mercenaries cannot use blaster rifles, BUT commandos (the opposite side of merc) CAN. Now it might limit what abilities you can use but you can play around with it (at a minor dps loss)

You'll unlock more abilities as you level up, right now just slap your dots on the target and hit random buttons tbh and you should be fine

Its sad, but imo now its the worst spec in the game. Very disappointing numbers compared to the rest of the dps classes. Arsenal is superior, no matter how mad that sounds.
