Going all out dark side was fun for about a month and then it got old. Pretty much all of my characters since then have been grey, making decisions based more on logic and how it would effect the big picture as apposed to worrying about light or dark.

Almost all my characters are light because you usually get everything you want and more + its way more practical to build bridges, make connections, create armies etc. then decimate everyone on a whim because you are so powerful and can do it. I pick like 80% LS, 19% Neutral and 1% DS because the DS options are usually so freakin stupid like "feed them their heads" - ehm, how are they going to eat their own heads?

@@DiogoJ1 No, she was wounded after being kidnapped and used against Malgus in the Deceived novel. Malgus killed her to prevent others from using her against him in the future, realizing his love for her is a "weakness" others can exploit. Years later, he uses the pain of losing her to fuel his emotions and empower his connection to the dark side, giving him more strength. Malgus was pure Sith Lord, through and through. He used the horrors he created as fuel and strength to create more and believed that the nature of the Force itself was conflict.

'Cause there's absolutely no reason to do that. Even my huntress, Torian's wife, saved Vette. Torian is a Mandalorian, he deserves a warrior's death. To be bad just to be bad is just absurd, that's why many Sith in this game are just childish born losers. There's absolutely nothing to win in saving Torian ; considering the state of the Cadera clan, even Vette has more influence in the galaxy. The Sith code is already not very deep, philosophically speaking, but if we forget even the pragmatism, there's nothing left, nothing but a red carpet for the paranoid cowards, puffy with pride but without talent, of the caliber of Baras, for example...

The problem I have with this is that the "dark side" isn't supposed to be "complete and unmitigated evil for evil's sake". Sith are supposed to be driven by their passions and so I can't see them willingly abandoning their lovers like this.

The first time I played this was as an Inquisitor who had romanced Ashara, but even then I chose Torian as a sacrifice since that's, like, part of their culture, that whole "glory of combat" mentality. That was just cold holy hell lol

Only reason I can fathom them not putting in the option is that it would be a long day in hell before Vaylin ever accepted advances from a non-Force user (except maybe an exceptionally twisted Imperial Agent, but still). Like I said though, that is *the only* reason, it would have been such a good dark side romance and imo honestly makes more sense than light side characters going for Arcann after everything he did (even if he was redeemed)

Should the top option be chosen, she stops just short of telling you to let Torian die. On top of being a hypocrite, she's just as ruthless & conniving as her lover when it comes to survival.

In a situation where my husband had a choice between saving me or saving his friend, no doubt I'd use the "We're married" card. Wouldn't you if you were in that situation? You're not sure why because it doesn't sound like that all. All I did was analyze her own actions. I get that your fellow female is in a pinch and you feel for her, but she's a ruthless hypocritical manipulator. Vette will preach all day about putting others above one self and being a 'Hero', but when her life was in danger, she was ready to throw Torian to the wolves invoking her husbands love to sway him to her. Like I said, pick option one where the SW says he doesn't have a choice and she'll say "You do have choice, you can save me and let Torian d--..." before stopping herself because she realizes just how Sith she herself really is. As for invoking marriage to get a rescue? No. I wouldn't say anything. If they didn't choose on their own to come save me, I would take it that they didn't love me as much I loved them and let thoughts of vengeance urge me on as I attempted to kill my way out of my predicament on my own. No one leaves me to die and gets away with it while I draw breath.

It's not right or wrong to save one or the other, you save who you feel is most special to you. It is no sin to choose a friend over ones spouse. Not everyone marries to love and protect. As to your second statement about Torian doing the same to Vette, I'll stop you in your lie right there. Torian never tells the player to kill Vette nor hints at it, he simply says he's in trouble too and if the pc rejects him call he accepts that he's going to die with no hard feelings. You clearly haven't ever touched the game outside of youtube 'let's play' so you're done talking out your ass here.

I noticed on my LS Sith Sorc I made the decision to save Torian and not Vette. Strange because I would never let Vette die, even If I was playing a DS path. I have no idea what happened it's been so long. If i replay the mission, can I reverse my previous decision?

@@xLetalis yeah, I tried...no luck. I also figured out what happened. Since I already completed KOTFE and KOTET with a few characters, I skipped it on my Sorc when Crisis on Umbara dropped. This autocompletes everything for you, so unless you have a Sith Warrior or a Republic character, Bioware assumes you picked Torian. At least now I know I wasn't crazy and that I would never pick Torian.

Vette is one of my favorite Old Republic characters but if this was considered canon in theegends universe of Star Wars, I wouldn't have a problem with it. The tragedy and heartbreak in her death was so perfect. I'm literally crying from it.

I've saved Vette two times now. Just don't have the heart to let her die. She and Torian got alot of screen time this expansion so it was clear that something was going to happen. Torian is great and all but I never played a bounty hunter so I didn't have that connection with him. Shame that one of them has to die but it is what it is. Sorry, Torian, but you get the short end of the force choke for me.

Torion doesn't really stand a chance, if you ask me. Rescue Vette, the happy-go-lucky, charismatic, super cute, comic relief.....Or Torian, the flat, underdeveloped, uninteresting, angsty wannabe soldier. All the character classes have at least one companion who was insufferably dull, and in the case of the Bounty Hunter that was Torian. Sorry Torian, but I didn't even hesitate. I think this moment would have been much more meaningful if they'd actually presented players with a choice that would have been harder. Like rescuing Vette and.... ..... .....Actually, I can't think of any expendable character that would have been comparable to Vette. You couldn't kill off Lana or Theron, because they're too important to the plot of whatever the future expansions are going to be, and none of the other characters really have a significant emotional investment for me. Vette's pretty much the only non-main character I have any reason to care about. If Kira was recruitable and I had to choose between Vette and Kira, that would have been a genuinely difficult choice (although my Sith would have picked Vette anyway, because she's her best friend. And my jedi would probably have picked Vette too because she'd consider it more important to save a civilian than a jedi warrior). Oh, or Mako. Mako would have been a tough choice (although I still think Vette would win). But who gives a damn about TORIAN!?

I would leave Vette to die even though she's our romanced companion, so i could strenghthen myself in the Darkside (as Malgus did), for that is the Sith way. Yes i'm terrible but i think this is the perfect choice for our sith warrior, i mean why would you play Sith if you don't have the will to act like one?, although i don't like to play badass Sith who can't even say a word without threating you or act like he is nothing but an animal, i'm a sith lord! My power is only matched by my intelligence and determination so my choices must live up to that as well. You don't end being the most powerful being in the galaxy by just being an asshole or a weak minded fool who can't do what must be done, also life isn't that easy that you can turn anyone into a good or bad person like they doesn't have wills of their own and you can't avoid troubles by just getting a lucky/easy plan b where no one have to die, a reason i disliked about this game for being unrealistic and childish so i play it my own way in order to make justice to my character and the plot as well.
