Star Wars: The Old Republic is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) based in the Star Wars universe. Developed by BioWare Austin and a supplemental team at BioWare Edmonton, the game was announced on October 21, 2008. The video game was released for the Microsoft Windows platform on December 20, 2011 in North America and part of Europe.
This story takes place in the Star Wars universe shortly after the establishment of a tenuous peace between the re-emergent Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic. The game features eight different classes. Each of the eight classes has a three act story-line that progresses as the character levels up. Players join either the Republic or the Sith, but players may possess a morality at any point along the light/dark spectrum. Different classes favor different styles of game-play, and the game features extensive customization options, fully voiced dialogue, companion characters, and dialogue options similar to BioWare's other role-playing games.

Man this game has some of the best cutscenes/trailers of all time. I struggled to run this game on my PC for so long getting a constant 15fps for my entire play time lol I have a theory that Kotor 3 is Bioeare's next game.

I played SWTOR for years , I can say if you are interested in PvE or PvP you can find many friendly and helpful guilds or meet new friends in that regard. I left because I was kinda of hardcore player so I would do content pretty fast when it came out and would get boring after since there was content drought but that's just me . If you love SW as franchise or want to play MMO that has one of the best lore out there you will love this game . Only negatives I would personally list is : game does look dated regarding graphics ,if you compare it to other MMOs you can see quite a difference and if you just started a game you will feel kinda lonely in low lvl zones since there are not many players there even companion wont help in that regard. To my fellow SW enthusiasts May the force be with you'.

Ironically in low level zones it felt the most populated when I was playing but that could be due to double xp

Yeah low level zones are highly populated and coruscant and dk chat keeps you entertained and in higher lvl zones you actually see a significant amount rather than other mmos ive played like WoW ff14 and ESO which is barren

One thing to note, is that the free to play monetization feels a bit aggressive for the F2P players, or at least to me. Unless this has changed since I last played: - You don't get access to all actionbars. - There is a cap on how many instances (be it pvp or pve) you can run and have to buy more runs, either with credits or cartel coins. - Money cap that at least to me feels way too low. (just 200k if you've had a sub at least once, less than that if you've never had a sub.) - Some skills unlock later for F2P. Like for example; subbed players can get a mount/sprint skill right at lvl 1, but free to play have to wait 10+ lvls for them. + few others that I believe are there to combat 'gold sellers', but still hurt the F2P players. So, usually when I get the SW itch, I only ever play the game if I can have a subscription running as well. Tried few times as a F2P but that's just a big NO from me. Too restricted.

You get enough action bars to keybind every ability available to you It takes long enough for groups to form due to the low population you don't have to worry about running into the cap The credit cap is 350k which is enough for nearly everyone, there's isn't any large purchases in the game If these are issues to you it only costs $5 to loosen these restrictions.

I tried tor for the first time a bit after it went f2p and just bounced off of it. The UI didn't scale properly for my smolboi monitor, the controls were clunky, f2p is actually "pay for everything, lul" and it struggled a bit on my - let's say - less than modern pc. I picked it up again recently and I got to say that over the years only my pc specs changed a bit, making the graphics smoother, but that's about it. Overall, I'd say that sure, you can give it a go, but don't expect much. To be honest, this game was a massive mistake right from the start and it's a miracle that it's still alive - but I don't think it will be too long before the plug is pulled. >dialogue choices Ah, yes, this was quite memed back in the day, and having a "WTF I DIDN'T MEAN THAT!" followed by " disapproves" moment happens from time to time lul. GODDAMN IT PIERCE.

Its a good game, but, I had so many conection issues that i just uninstalled it after one year of gameplay and issues. Dope game if you love the StarWars franchise but as a whole, wouldnt really spend too much time on it because, gameplay wise, feels a lil bit too outdated.

I have played this on and off since the first beta, to be completely honest the only reason I come back because "modern" MMOs are crappy remakes of the same thing over and over again. Once something actually new comes out I probably won't come back. Unfortunately everything coming out today is the same old WoW clone or Grindfest coming out of Asia. Everquest Next was something I was looking forward to due to the originality and new features that had never been done before but sadly they scrapped it when Sony sold to Daybreak.

Recently came back, never really left just been on and off. My main issue woth this game, considering its ea, is how heavily its monetized, and rn the gtn economy is a boot up the ass. I sub from time to time but goodness if it isnt the gtn thats overinflated its how much they want me to spend for 1 damn mount. And i have to be highly critical about this considering i grind games like warframe

I only played the game for a week, not gonna set up key binds for a game that I wasn't going to dive into super duper deep not to mention the video is really supposed to give you an idea from of if you would like to play the game if you never played it before or if its been a long time since you've played. Overall its a positive review so not sure why this was even an issue for you lol.

THE X totally agree, but like I said most of the games I cover I play for a week maybe a week and a half. For me to mid max my rotation with macros and such for me to then not use them just wastes time. If SWTOR was my main game I would be more inclined to do so
