JB4 is a very good piggy back very versatile and easily reverted back to stock in case of warranty issues. SXTH element is a re flash of the vin locked ECU. A reflash, most of the time,is better then most piggy backs “With everything” else being equal between both with updates and upgrades.

Ah man I feel ya on the garage. I have two kids too (a little older than yours) and between their bikes, sports balls, scooters, sneakers, it gets a little out of control sometimes. It would be cool to see what you do with it. I was just thinking today about how I can improve mine. Mine has drywall so I was thinking about just painting it with cool stripes or something. But where am I gonna find the time is the problem lol. Anyway, great content as usual. I was very surprised just how much the SXTH pulled on the JB4. I’m still at least a year or two away from a tune, but good info to have for those future mods. Keep up the great work man!

For the garage, maybe consider the white plastic shelving units from Lowe's. They go together easy, hold a lot of weight, white can brighten the space, and if you ever move they pop right apart. I've had 3 for about 15 years (and 3 moves). If you use them, zip tie them together for extra stability.

I have always believed that the JB4 was just as good if not better than most tunes out there, only with the Veloster N though. This is because of the turbo on the Veloster N. That being said though I’ve been leaning towards a sixth tune for my Elantra N DCT with out a doubt. I will say this though that race being a dig and sorry to say not great quality footage or sound is a poor example. I understand and still appreciate you putting out this video for us but I don’t think that’s a good example. Just my opinion.

I’m leaning the same way, over time the thought of the piggy back causing any issues kind of scares me, I’d rather be able to simply swap out ECU’s at my convenience

@@ENtense I feel the same way. I never had any issues with my JB4 on my Veloster N and ran against sixth, 845, and multiple other piggy back systems and always came out on top. That being said though I too want to be absolutely safe and will probably be going the sixth ECU Swap tune.

Brandon, someone who follows/commented on your channel about how we'd do against a Fusion Sport...I have the answer❗️While down in Mexico almost 2 weeks ago I raced a buddy's tuned Fusion Sport. From a dig he put 2 cars on me, that wheel hop going into 2nd was LOUD😋 Then on the freeway, 60-125, I put 4 cars on him and used NGS this time. I was so focused on the road that I didn't check the boost level, plenty of "octane learning" heading to do all this. Hope the guy asking about this particular car sees this and everyone else, hope you enjoyed the door tag story in 🇲🇽

Hey fellow Elantra N owners! I am not sure if it has happened to anyone else but a little after my car hit over 1,000 miles, a coil pack malfunctioned and caused the car to run on 3 cylinders and emit white smoke for a little. Anybody else have this issue? Before it happened, there was a weird up and down idle on startup. It drove normally and after a few mins it was too rich and stalled. Weird thing is that after about an hour of sitting in the garage at home after barely making it back to my house, the car would manage to idle "normally" again. Dealer here in DFW said it was 1 coil pack that went out. Just wanted you guys to watch out for that! They had the coil at the dealership so I assume that Hyundai has reused the coil pack from another turbo car they make. Still an amazing car!

I’ve heard a couple have fuel injectors replaced, not sure if I recall many with coil packs needing replaced. Thankfully the warranty is superb 👌🏻

My buddy put a k&n drop in filter in his '18 WRX, and it gained him 2-3 cars difference. So, if one had ECU Tune and mods, and other one only had JB4, I'd say the JB4 did pretty well in terms of performance. Now as for reliability on the JB4, maybe it matters on the brand of vehicle?

@@ENtense there's a few videos.showing k&n drop in gaining 5whp...on the VQ37 there's a video he gained around 14whp with the dual Intakes...we raced stock for stock I gapped him, then he put k&n drop in after and he definitely did a lot better. We did multiple runs on both setups too just to be sure.

there is absolutely no way a drop in filter increases the WHP , its basic mechanics, I have an aftermarket turbo inlet and SXTH cold air , with no discernable difference, bolt ons for the N models dont do much

@Noah Dunn all engines are different, but I'm referring to ppl that do a cpl runs on dyno, then swap k&n filter in 2min with same tank of gas, then do more runs to see the gains. No you won't feel a 5-10hp gain, so dyno is only way to test it.

Been kinda torn on tune direction but lean towards sxth. Gonna be awhile til I pull the trigger on one since I have few other mods ahead of the line (cf wheel, short shift kit, intake) As for your garage B, I can’t speak from experience as I’ve always been a renter, but I definitely say drywall that place first to help it out aesthetically. Mud it, paint, then step back and see how to better organize the tools(one side) work station table with storage underneath on another wall and misc house crap 3rd wall once all unnecessary/unwanted items are removed. Play around with ideas first but have a solid plan and direction to zero in on once u get down to business and throw real time and effort at it. I feel like you’re gonna do a few updates here n there for the channel so I’m sure u won’t wanna film anything but real progress for us to chime in on, and, we’ll be ready! I agree with the tune, there’s so many things I want for this car as well 😂 And I’d love to drywall everything, paint it white and get some nice LED’s wired up everywhere and just make it nice and bright. Maybe I’ll film some Timelapse’s or something haha

@@jonahschulman3114 went with the Boomba adapter plate, not the ss kit. The adapter plate alone is a great improvement of shifter feel, nothier and shorter throws not to mention how it was less expensive and quicker install. My buddy from the Elantra N fb group actually offered to do the install for me as he was in town at the time, I couldn’t pass it up as it was probably a bit too challenging for my amateur wrenching skills. As for the tune, didn’t happen and won’t at this point. My EN ownership may she shorter than expected with consideration to my traveling plans with girlfriend in coming years and neither of our cars are very suitable. Intake I’ll pass on too as there’s not much need minus more tune upgrades, which I’m not doing anymore.✌🏽

The jb4 is essentially a eletronic boost controller vs an actual re-flash of the ecu. It’s like comparing a jb4 map vs ecutek tune or bm3 tuned Supra. It’s not even a race

If only the video wasn’t edited to show him gaping the other car and showed the real beginning. The other car actually was ahead of him, saw that he didn’t take off, let off and then the “winner” got on the gas, showing that he won.

Nothing is edited, I’m not sure what you mean. The EN with the camera has the SXTH tune, and clearly won the race. He let off after reaching roughly 90mph, and you can then see the other EN gaining quickly when you watch the rear view camera as they were still on the gas.
