Hey fellow Airmen! I'm a male, but I recommend that females be careful during BEAST week only because the dudes there get comfortable with the bit of freedom they have and they ask girls out and probably ask for something further. I heard about female and male trainees get recycled/kicked out for doing that. Also when you get mini-mall privilege, you can buy hair products like Cantu, hair ties, etc. Actually, if you can bring travel-sized products with you.

Throughout BMT females should be careful. Speaking for my flight during BEAST week-- none of the girls had an issue with the male flights we were with. We were actually really cool with them. This is not to say things don't and haven't happened to others. I will be making a video on it to go into further detail. Yes you can buy hair products, but they barely have enough for 4c hair.

The TI of my sister flight when I was in basic, (2002) (321st) (FLT 105) I'll never forget her. A short, black woman named SSGT. Campbell-Gully. Holy shit that woman was savage. I misstepped a few times during parade practice and I though she was gonna pull my head off and she barely came up to my chin and I'm 6'. Lol. Good memories.

So I have a couple questions for anyone really. I have seen videos of people getting tased in the military, do you have to? Do you have to stay at boot camp or can you stay somewhere else? And also are you allowed personal time/shower time every day, if so how long do you get and would you recommend washing your hair every day while there?

The videos you are probably seeing are security forces they can opt in to getting tased in while they are in tech school. Yes you have to stay at BMT--its not vacation its military training. There is no personal time at BMT you will always be around the men or women of your flight. You shouldn't wash your hair everyday because it takes up time and space in the shower.

can you go to BMT with box braids or like a braided bun (like, to the scalp and then in a bun) or something so you dont have to worry about your hair at all? my hair is thick and 4c and im only 1.5 years natural so i wouldnt be able to put it in a bun in its natural state and idk if the afro would be too unkept bc idk how to care for it in its natural state bc i just keep it braided or straightened...

I would say braids would be the best option, but be careful about how thick they are because you will have to put them in a bun.

Hey! The thing is your hair can not be longer than arm pit length in uniform so as long as you can braid them or twist them or put them in a bun you'll be good to go!
