Welcome to Sydney Cycling. Today we are taking another Sydney Cycleway to the wonderful Botany Bay National Park at Kurnell. The route consists of a mixture of shared path, dedicated cycleways and on-road cycleways. The route has been split into two videos with this one covering the route to Taren Point, an approximate length of 10km.
Sydney Cycleways consist of some great separated bike lanes and shared path roads that the whole family can ride. This section of cycleway is very easy for the whole family to ride, although the path does get very busy at times. The route follows the Botany Bay coastal line and crosses over Captain Cook Bridge and continuing back to the headland. It is a very scenic and lovely coastal route with great views over Botany Bay along the way. The bike path can connect to the city via Alexandria or connect West via the Cooks River Cycleway. See my other videos for information on those rides.
I hope you really enjoy this video. Please subscribe as I will be uploading more Sydney Cycling rides and will try to cover more of Sydney's bike lanes.
Also please feel free to comment below if there are any particular bike routes you would like to see or have any other suggestions.

I rode this route a couple of weeks ago, but in the other direction. I started at the northern side of Captain Cook bridge and headed north. When I got to the northern end I rode under the main road and along the canal a few ks to the old fishing club. Then I rode back and had lunch at one of the cafes back near the bridge. It was a very nice ride, especially on an ebike.

@@sydneycycling8631 Do you sometimes travel to these cycling spots by public transport? If so, can you show that part too? 🙏

@@kismetau Hi. I normally just ride everywhere. If you look at my other videos they link you to a route from the city. It's pretty easy and safe 👍

Riding on Clareville Ave and Riverside Dr roadways is much safer and smoother than riding on the shared pathway. Both these streets have little vehicular traffic and are marked as cycleways. It’s better than dodging people walking with their kids and dogs. You ever know when a child or dog will step in front of you and cause a crash.

Thanks for sharing your cycling routes . We also love the coastal cycling path from stanwell park all the way to kiama . Would it be possible and safe to ride your route and keep heading south all the way to Wollongong? And make it an overnight trip ? What a great ride it would be and a awesome tourism attraction. Thanks

Thanks for sharing your route! I just bought a used bike and am so grateful for your video for suggesting this beautiful coastal ride. Have you seen today’s swell report for the NSW coast. Wild seas today. Perfect chance to check out the giant waves from the safety of the road

Thanks! Great ride! I'd be interested in complete north-south and east-west rides right through Sydney. Like from north of Woywoy to wollongong and all the way past Paramatta. Linking up to railway stations where bike can be taken on the trains. Any suggestion which are the best and most car free??
The best Gravel riding is outside of Sydney?
