I first heard of Sydney last week when she shattered the 400m hurdle world record, but now i am 100% a huge fan. I'm SO PROUD of this beautiful gazelle, and i just think she is an amazing role model for young girls and women athletes across the country! Sydney...you have fans rooting for you big time from Northern California and whether you bring home the Gold or not, you are a Champion in our eyes and we love you!!!!

Watched her at the Olympics. The camera picked on her at the warm.up track, then she won her heat like it was a stroll in the park. She looked good. Then watched all her wins. Wow. What an.athlete. Then listened to her press conference. So poised for a young woman. Now watching this shows how grounded she is. I wish her well. Looking forward to her growth as an athlete. Greetings from Malaysia. I grew up in Dunellen, dad ran Dunellen Auto Repair for many yrs at 144 North Ave. Many great memories of playing ball at Columbia Park. Heard in media about Sydney -- what a class act, and if she stays the course (see Allyson Felix at age 35) we haven't heard the last from her!

In the USA competition is so intense in track and field that one has to shed blood in order to secure an Olympic team spot. So to achieve such at age 16 is beyond words! Five years on if she can remain injury and illness free she is now ready for 'gold.' Sidney does not possess often displayed American arrogance, she is obviously a lovely person, hence a large part of world-wide track fans are rooting for her.
