As an American, it’s been an absolute blast watching this Swans team all season with how elite they’ve been. Especially Heeney, Chad & Gulden, who’ve dominated on the Ground all year. Well, maybe not that slump period between June and August. But I mean, every team will drop some at some point. Otherwise, this season has been amazing and I’m hoping that the Swans can win the flag Next Week to gift wrap this fantastic season, and to also avenge the demons that we’ve had in the Grand Final since 2014. I’ve been waiting for this moment for 5 years now, ever since I started watching footy during the pandemic. COME ON, SWANNIES!!

It wouldn't have mattered if was Port, Hawthorn, Bulldogs or even Geelong, NO team was beating the Swans last night....especially at the SCG. It seems like the Swans are finally hitting some form, now that they've got a full strength team again. Tom Papley is a VERY important player for the Swans and has been out of the side for a huge amount of the season. If they play like this next week, they'll win the flag with absolutely no doubt. My tip is Isaac Heeney for the Norm Smith medal.

IMO, I feel like Port last night just weren't able to get a lot of quality inside 50 entries. Part of it is credit to the swans defence and the pressure they applied to Port's midfield and forward line. However, I feel like Port at times just bombed the ball inside 50 too often which led them to hoping to bring it to ground level or to take a big grab. Where in contrast with Sydney, they were slicker and lowered the eyes more when they had the opportunity inside their attacking 50.

Surprised the margin wasn’t even worse by the end. Port needed to change the way they went inside 50 but kept winning centre clearance then bombing it in to Dixon who always had 2 players ready to spoil. Didn’t work once but they kept trying anyways. Sydney’s pressure and accuracy is what you need in finals, not missing opportunities.

Because a player is allowed to kick around the body after the siren has sounded as long as he doesn't go over that imaginary line (in this case) to the right side of the man on the mark. Papley started to the left of the player on the mark and kicked the ball around his body, and in doing so, didn't "step off the mark", If he did go to the right of the player on the mark, it would have been "play on" and the goal would not have counted.
