Hello everyone, welcome to a brand new video where we find ourselves for the first time on this channel outside of Queensland! Where we do find ourselves today is the Australian state south of Queensland known as New South Wales where we will be tramspotting in the city business district of the state capital, Sydney around Circular Quay on Alfred St and George St, I hope you enjoy!
For context, the current Sydney Light Rail network spans just over 20 kilometres in length and has 3 lines with Circular Quay being the terminus of 2 of those lines which are the connections to Randwick and Kingsford so those are the services we will be seeing at Circular Quay in this video. The Randwick and Kingsford Lines have only been opened recently in 2019 and 2020 respectively so are only a few years old! The 1st line was the connection to Dulwich Hill opened back in 1997 and was the only light rail line in modern Sydney for many years until now! Currently the 3 light rail lines are owned by Transport for NSW with operations currently contracted to Transdev Sydney and a 4th line is currently being built at Parramatta Park to be isolated from the other 3 lines.
