It may not at first, but it will eventually, as they said, it inevitably devolves to zealotry, because we can't STILL our selves. So the pendulum swings. This is also why it's so easily torn asunder by a few decades of propoganda. It's weak. Fear is a shitty foundation, if one at all. Even fear of God or Hell. It attempts to condense a very nuanced entity like humanity into a ridiculously small box of mind-made dos and donts. Pressure inevitably builds and BANG. One or two influential artists come forth with songs of "liberation" or whatever. And an outward explosion ensues. And since our main issue is an inbility to STILL ourselves we can't control it and the pendulum swings as far as it can until we've got articles claiming inc**tuous relationships are somehow acceptable. And "MAPs" attempting to normalize the vile crime you and I know "it" to be. One side is overtly ugly, laden with blood and tears. You know what’s empowering? My grandmother raising 4 children in a cabin out in a village in Alaska with no outside access besides a plane that only came every couple week. No running water, to electricity, and figuring out how to feed her children on a missionaries salary, back in the ‘50s when missionaries actually did something. She suffered the loss of her second child who died of a fever at 6 months old because it was breakup season and they couldn’t get a plane in. She washed and dried clothes in the middle of the winter. She shopped at second hand stores after her and Grandpa moved into town. She is the definition of a strong woman. She never complained about her life. When I say, “That must have been hard” she just shrugs and says “It’s just what you did back then.” A strong woman is my other grandma who followed her husband to Alaska with a toddler and a baby, driving through Canada in a pickup truck with a camper. She left her parents and sisters back on the farm and moved to a place where she knew no one. She stayed married for 55 years to a man that was not easy to live with. These are strong women. I look up to them and hope I can do as good as they did in their lives. I take their advice and treasure it. I value my grandmothers advice more then any of the so called “influencers” posing half naked on the internet.

My most depraved and depressing time was when I was drinking every weekend, hook ups, obsessing and valuing my looks over my talents and aspirations, and doing this all in the name of “I’m a free woman, I’m empowered, I do what I want when I want, I don’t need a man and I won’t be hurt by one again!” The last two are true in a sense but the mindset I had that framed and fueled those beliefs were wrong.

@moderncontemplative82272 жыл бұрын
So incredibly true. I look back on the last 20 years of my life (I'm nearing 40) and wish I'd had someone in my life who had at least attempted to explain to me why rushing into sex was a horrible, horrible idea. Not even from a religious/purity/ect standpoint, just from the fact that sex will always release bonding hormones and inevitably you're going to end up in terrible relationships with incompatible people because you end up feeling a bond far too quickly. To this day I still haven't had a truly happy relationship with someone who's values and ideals are compatible because sex is just expected within the first handful of dates and I allowed myself to believe the lie that if I didn't have sex with the man I was trying to date I'd never find anything long term. Currently partnered and trying to work through issues I never would have accepted if I knew about them before going through the sexual bonding process. All I can do now is promise myself I'm never going to fall into that trap again. Probably too little too late but it's all I have.

I fell into this trap too and thank God, I opened up my eyes before losing control over myself. I still feel disgusted with myself by having three casual sex partners and dressing inappropriately for a party once... I was heart broken over shitty ex boyfriends and didn't felt valued enough, no matter how skinny, healthy, kind, modest, helpful, dress nicely, loyal I was, I still got cheated on and them sexualizing other women that are half naked - even overweight women. Wtf. Then again, I shouldn't have done what I did and noticed the redflags with those men before I gave myself up to them. I wish I could go back in time and scream at my younger innocent self, before I got myself into trouble. Even some of the women I was friends with - shaped me into something I wasn't. I wish all the beautiful young women can hear us out and not to make the same mistakes. Hell, sometimes mastabation is better than sex. It was for me for along time until I met my partner now, who I've been with for nearly 2 years now. We need to teach young women and even young men, to learn how to wait, value sex more and value themselves more. Teach them modesty. I went out with some with a really high body count, it was a disaster and yep, he got bored of me very quickly, even though I was in the prime of my life (I had abs, seriously healthy, perfect weight and gave up smoking and drinking), he still decides to cheat on me with some chick and trying to hook up with other chicks behind my back.

Same. We are separatist Christians so we homeschool and our kids do not have free reign access to internet. I’m basically raising my children as though it is the early 80s. They do not have cell phones and they also watch all the older cartoons none none of the New Age children’s shows which promote this type of garbage. The best thing we’ve done is basically gone back in time to raise our children and keep them away from other children to families who do not have similar values. Granted our children are learning to type they do know how to use a Google search etc. they are educated and they’re gonna be more than able to navigate technology. But their experience in navigating it so far has been very well controlled. I also strongly recommend teaching them traditions and values of their own culture through example and activities. So yes I am encouraging you whatever your heritage is to teach them a strong positive picture of it and how it should be. Ignore liberal leftist ideologies. Teach them some pride. If you don’t they will not have the self-confidence they need to be adults and take on the real world when that challenge does come.

Take time to raise your kids. Sacrifice what you need to sacrifice to be with them and be an example for them. Read with them play with them. Do not allow your kids to be raised by strangers of questionable state of mind eight hours a day everyday. School in this form is the most bullshit thing in this world. Also work with farm animals. Thanks to my dad I started working at local farm taking care of animals when I was twelve. Animals and hard work teach you everything you need to know and you don't even have time for other things really so no stupid friends to indoctrinate you into stupid shit. Also my dad gave me lots of books when I was younger. Being surrounded by mostly conservative society helps a lot too. I'm from Poland. When I was fourteen I found people like Roger Scruton and Douglas Murray later Jordan Peterson and Thomas Sowell on my own. Wish my dad knew English so that he could listen to them too. If you set an example for your kids and introduce them to this world already with personality and beliefs there is more chance for them to go through it and walk away unscathed.

A great deal of the problem with society is if you do manage to keep your child from this...disgrace...people will say your are suppressing her and Child Protective Services might make up a reason to take her from you. Sadly I have seen it happen to good people while scum in human form don't rate so much as a look-over. Good luck and God bless.
@thomashudson34583 жыл бұрын
There's no way to 100% shield a child from these things, but you can try. #1 Don't give anyone a smart phone if they are under 15 years old. They don't need one. If you feel they need a phone, get them one that doesn't let them download apps or one that is just for making phone calls. #2 Parent your child. Don't just pick them up from school and plop them down in front of the TV while you go about doing what you want. Letting TV parent your child is one of the biggest problems these days. Help them with homework (if that still exists) and then have them go outside to play for at least an hour. Play board games or do other activities WITH them. Instead of TV, have them read books.

Most men I know find it a gross turn off when a woman who thinks she has "something to show" goes around strutting like a pigeon. It comes across as sad, insecure, desperate, self-absorbed and vulgar. But we smile and nod and some even make stupid attempts at compliments because we sense the woman is suffering and is hoping that making her tits the centre of the universe will make her feel better about herself. Meanwhile the women who act with dignity and grace are the ones we admire. The people who make a big deal about big breasts are the women with them and a % of guys with a fetish for them. A lot of people though greatly prefer a more refined shape or just don't care either way. It's sad that women with a more refined shape are made to feel bad about themselves by those who go on and on and on about their busty-ness. It looks like a school playground of mean girls finding a reason to bully other girls.

@eepyru Жыл бұрын
One of the biggest questions I've always had is, why do we women need to show skin but men can roam around fully covered, and no one says anything, instead it's the norm for them to do so. That itself just says so much to me. I'm a 17 years old Muslim female, and people get weirded out by me dressing modestly, and I just don't understand, why? They tell me that I'm sexualising myself indirectly. I felt so weird, like these people will do anything to gaslight me and make me feel like I'm stupid and oppressed for dressing modestly. I always wondered, how is dressing in very revealing clothes NOT sexualising and objectifying. Instead it's seen as empowering. I just can't believe that I live in a world where dressing modestly is considered wrong. If anything, dressing modestly has done me so much good. Most people upon seeing me, respect me because they immediately think of me as a woman who is close to God, and number two, they view me as someone who's more than just a body. It does the complete opposite of whatever you just talked about in the video, yet I'm still made to feel bad about it. I also always say this: I know that seeing someone as just a body is not right in certain circumstances, but we also need to realize that we as humans usually see other people as objects. When you go out and look around, most people actually just appear as objects to you. You don't feel some very deep emotional connection to them or something unless you're close to someone, you know what I'm saying? So viewing strangers as just bodies or ‘objects’ is actually pretty much a natural thing, and what women who dress in very revealing clothes, example cardi b in wap, are doing is basically making themselves look even more like objects or just mere bodies. Then people get mad at others for viewing them that way I mean c'mon now. They're literally encouraging other people to objectify them even more, and if you can't see that I don't know what to say or what to do. Anyways, good video, I learnt quite a lot LOL! I only found you out recently, might as well subscribe.

But the whole argument is that women do need to be empowered because they feel they lack power. Here's an analogy: Choosing a contraceptive, as a young bloke you get exactly the condom to "choose" from while women get so many methods that are 10 times safer. If you're in a relationship and aren't using condoms and she forgets to take the pill it's now your problem too. That can make a man feel powerless. This is akin to how lots of feminists feel towards their issues. Though most might not care much about the problems you face as a man, some of theirs are real and worth listening to, you might even get them to warm up to you and we could use some unity in the world right now tbh.

I have taught various styles of dance at a local event venue, and I have always been completely shocked at the behavior of the female attendees at the dance parties. The music tends to start with tunes from the 50s and 60s which we have taught them to actually dance to, and things usually go fairly well. However, as soon as anything from the 70s or later comes on, any attempt at actual dancing usually comes to an end and the sexual motions begin. It's a pretty quick progression from there to music of the 80s and later, where many of the lyrics are blatantly objectifying and... I mean, have you HEARD Get Low by Lil Jon? Or even the Wobble? I like getting an eye full as much as the next guy, but there is no possible way I can enjoy watching those proceedings because part is being attractive is confidence, belief in your own value, and a bit of subtle artistry. If you can improv a body roll smoothly into a well executed West Coast Swing whip and give me a saucy smile as you stride closer for a tuck turn or a head roll with a hair fling, well my God that's one of the sexiest damn things ever... but standing out in the floor trying desperately to find new and unique ways to hump the air... well... my lizard brain is interested for a little while, it takes very little time for me to start questioning why you're spending so much time doing something that must be so boring. I got into an argument with a friend of mine who posted something on Facebook to the effect of, "Instead of calling young girls bossy, we should teach them they have leadership skills". It froze me in my tracks because of how subversive the notion is. It twists the meaning of these words and the actions of those it involves to somehow make bossiness seem like it is an admirable trait, and that's fine because "it's admirable among men". It's the "it's okay because they do it" idea, and it disgusted me to my core when I considered the number of young girls who will learn it's okay to bully others into submission, under the false assumption that that is somehow "good leadership". Needless to say I was called a sexist, misogynist pig. It was so nice to have a friend of 28 years, openly and publicly label me as something I'm not, and then proceed to dogpile me in her comments with disconnected arguments, along with their feminist friends who agree with her, thereby proving my point beyond any shadow of a doubt. I have not spoken to her since. They sat there patting each other on the back for a job well done, probably lacking the self awareness to realize what they had just done. I’m a 75-year-old white woman who has seen it all. I’ve lived through the 60s and 70s or 80s and 90s in the first 20 years of the 2000. In the 60s I fell into the trap of believing what the feminist were peddling. It really wasn’t until I was raising teenage daughters that I realized how important a good man would’ve been to my life. Unfortunately I was married to an alcoholic who succeeded in making my life a living hell in some respects. I totally agree with your summation of the false female empowerment movement. It is so destructive. You my dear are a beautiful, articulate, intelligent young woman, your future is bright.👍🏻

What's aggravating is that female leads would be great if their personalities weren't just FEMALE. That's not a personality. Empowerment is allowing women to dictate their own choices, but in the media, we see a lot of "role models" who are just rude, unkind, or just a bad role model for kids, particularly for young girls. Not to mention, most of these films or books that do this often play men as the "dumb" character, which is horribly counterproductive. I'd just like to these something where men and women are written equally, and have flaws as well as merits, ya know?

Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, both from 1997 and 2004 until 2006 and 2009, sound like what you're looking for. Or literally any Star Trek made before Star Trek Discovery and Star Trek Picard came out. Babylon 5, from 1993-1998, would also probably work. There's also Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda, Farscape, BattleStar Galactica 1978, Pacific Rim, and pretty much any show or movie from prior around 2015 except Pacific Rim The Black, Grimm, Teen Wolf, and most Transformers except the Bayverse. But I get your point, most "modern" stuff just isn't good at all. Whatever happened to the good old days? They literally introduce Samantha Carter, one of the strongest and smartest women on TV that I can think of, with something along the lines of "Sir, just because my reproductive organs are on the inside instead of the outside doesn't mean I'm any less capable then you are." and the guy just immediately accepts her as part of his team and most of the time she saves everyone's ass with some crazy plan like throwing a bomb into a wormhole connected to a black hole or blowing up a sun. Or Babylon 5 with Delenn telling a hostile fleet "If you value your lives, be somewhere else." and they just turn around fast as they can with their tails between their legs. Whatever happened to women like that? If I ever have kids there is no way I'm going to be letting them watch most of the stuff from "modern" shows. And yes, I'm a straight white male.

Years ago my then girlfriend and I had an argument when I put forward the idea that women dress to impress other women rather than men. She got quite heated denying this and was convinced that women dress to impress men because men expect them to look their best. Fast forward two days and we were going to my parents house (both in their late 50's) for dinner. My GF was dressed in comfortable jeans with one of my sweaters on, just dressed comfortably. On the way there she found out that my sister (early 30's) would be there. My GF immediately panicked and asked to go back to her house to get changed into other clothes. I couldn't help laughing as I reminded her of our argument just two days before. She wasn't concerned about her appearance with my parents, but with my sister there her appearance became vitally important. BTW, the dinner went fine. Jeans, sweater and all :)

I’ve had this same argument with past girlfriends as well, and I believe it’s 100% true. Feminists like to constantly rail again men for objectifying women and forcing them to look and dress a certain way, but in my experience it has always been women themselves who apply this pressure. It’s women who are incredibly competitive with one another and weirdly obsessed with vanity and comparisons, it is women who spend hours scrolling through Insta timelines looking at other girls and critiquing their bodies and clothes, and it’s women themselves who will often even drag each other down and shame their peers to prop themselves up and feel good.

I mean why is that if you dress like that you're just a body (basicly people think you're dumb, not worth anything kinda) but if you're covered than you're smarter, you "matter" more. I think that's a problem too. That if men see a little skin they automaticly think about sex. Why is that? Why are they feeding us the idea of skin/revealing clothes equals a woman who is easy. I once heard that the society you grown up in decides what makes you araused. People in other places don't view breasts as "sexy bodyparts" for example The media shoves the idea down our throats that if woman sexy->dumb, worthless, easy and If woman dress covered-> frigid, smart, ugly I'm not tryna start a fight or dunno, it's just my opinion. i'm not coming for anyone and i'm interested if you think otherwise, we can all share our opinions in a well mannered way If my english is not the best i'm working on it, it's not my first language

Here’s how to tell the difference between female empowerment and sexualization: Empowerment is when women feel positive about themselves as people by dressing in clothes they like and acting in the way they wish (obviously with limitations; you can’t be a bad person). Sexualization is when a woman is made into an item of sexual pleasure simply to entertain or please other people, without consideration for the woman’s dignity and autonomy.
