I'm not reluctant at all to compare her to some of the vocal greats of recent times. She reminds me of Shirley Bassey, has the power of Whitney Houston, shares some of the qualities of Celine Dion, Liza Minnelli, Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand. The tracks on her recently released album bear this out. I'm looking forward to your reaction to her finals performance of "Over the Rainbow," and also to any of the tracks on the album. "The Impossible Dream," is a winner for sure, and "Hall of Fame" outdoes the original, IMO!

Sydnie has an amazing voice and her powerful delivery of this song was spectacular. I also like her personality. I just don't know why BGT is not able to upload videos without audio glitches. However, you should definintely react to her audition singing "Tomorrow" and to her performance in the finals "Over the Rainbow". She has more covers on her own channel. 🙂

Sydney is fantastic, a great musical voice, perfect for Broadway and the Westend of London, I'm British, and she makes me proud to have such a great voice again from England, but my favourite singer is Morissette Amon from the Philippinens, in 2018 she sang NEVER ENOUGH on wish 107.5bus Radio station, then RISE UP again on the 107.5bus, she is just the most complett singer out there today, Mori can sing anything from Gospel to Rap, she is just out of this World, she is my Nr1, Sydney is in my top ten, together with Whitney, Celine, Lara Fabian another underrated singer, Jennifer Hudson and many more, but Morissette is the only singer I listen to every day of the week, and that for the last six years, enjoy the rabbit hole of Morissette Amon, its very deep, because of her range, she has covered all the greats, and has a lot of originals too, I will turn on my notifications, and when you drop anything to do with Morissette Amon, I will watch.

Better late than never! But where have you been? Mars? Twillight Zone? Sydnie Christmas is a mix of Supernove and Comet that appeared and infects people all over the world and of all ages! Your words also reminded me of the many reaction videos. They also compare her voice to many artists from the past and present! I also heard a lot of adjectives and the inevitable "speechless". On October 4th, the 1st Album (My Way) was released and can be heard here on You Tube and the usual channels. On Amazon, the CD version is out of stock. However, to get to know Sydnie Christmas better, I strongly recommend that you watch the 1st audition with the cover Tomorrow by Annie. As for the female version of "My Way" I know Shirley Bassey's - (1987 Live in Berlin).

"Those idiots" as Simon describes them never heard this voice. From listening to pre-BGT performances by Sydnie, she never let herself sing in HER full voice. On BGT, her fabled "last chance," she had to perform as Sydnie, not as some character in a musical theater performance. As Sidney, she finally gave herself permission to sing out.
