I recently visited Hussainiwala border & learned about its history pertaining to our freedom struggle. Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were hanged and then dumped by the Sutlej banks in the village by the British. The place holds a special place in our heart for our fallen martyrs. Interesting, Hussainiwala originally went to Pakistan in the partition but India got it back in 1961 by giving 12 of its villages to Pakistan. This village was of such great importance to us because of what it signified. I’m glad we have always celebrated & revered our heroes in India.

The fact that these heroes weren't Muslims means they're not honored in Pakistan. It's a tragic state of affairs when a country forgets its heroes and prominent figures
@SSwathi-bg4lk9 ай бұрын
Muslims have hardly any interest in politics or anything as such. Their predominant interest is in religion, in the teachings of the Quran, their Prophet and their actions are driven by that. In Muslim Cannon Law, the world is divided into two parts, one is Dar-ul-Harb(Land of Kaffirs) and the other one is Dar-ul-Islam. It is the duty of every true Muslim to convert Dar-ul-Harb into Dar-ul-Islam. In fact, Islam never allows a true Muslim to adopt Bharat as his motherland and accept a Sanatani as his kith and kin. Hindus are right when they say that it's impossible to establish social contact with Muslims, as it would mean men from only one side and women from the other side. -Golden words of Dr. B. R. You see Bhagat Singh's photo everywhere in India, be it a police station, college or a government office or a private home. We Indians are content to see him as our great hero. This is exactly what he did NOT want to become, an idol. But then, that is the way of common people. When we like someone so much, that person automatically becomes beyond questioning. It is a sin to criticize him even if that person urged us to keep a questioning mind!

Commendable work. Heartening to hear this from across the border. My maternal Grandfather was a close associate of Bhagat Singh and the Secretary of HSRA. He was also in Lahore Jail at the time of partition. Thanks for talking about Bhagat Singh. In India, he is respected but only namely so. Anytime you speak of his ideas and beliefs, these people would label you an anti-national or a communist. He was an atheist, a revolutionary, a thinker, a poet, a socialist, and above all a fighter who spoke not only about the freedom of the body but also the mind. He spoke of communal unity. Farmers and workers rights, free thinking and not making gods out of people. Everything we seem to have given up on in today’s India. That being said, some of us dont and wont forget. We wont let him die, for “they can only kill the body but not the ideas” Inquilaab Zindabaad!!

Absolutely true, well said. I'm particularly sad right now about almost zero coverage of Ladakh protests by "mainstream" Indian media. I won't be surprised if even Mr. Sonam Wangchuk, who has been sitting on a fast unto death since past 17 days just to preserve the fragile ecosystem of ladakh from corporate lobbying would also be labelled "anti national" in no time just because he is trying to remind the current dispensation about the promises made by them in their manifesto. Just a cursory look at his KZbin channel is enough for people to understand what an asset he is for our country. But none of that would help his case I reckon.
@Divyanshh77819 ай бұрын
@quenky1 that wasnt the point mate. Read again. Your comment reeks of the very things Bhagat Singh and countless freedom fighters sought to get rid of. Sure the socialist v communist debate can go all night. That really wasnt the point. You might as well keep licking the feet of authoritarians. Not all of us can and not all of us will. The pattern is apparent, next up you’re probably gonna call me a congress stooge, then maybe a muslim sympathiser, then an anti national, and so on so forth. So do it. Doesnt change a thing. I’d take that over not standing with the oppressed, the workers, the labourers and the farmers and those who demand their rightful rights and those who demand their peace.

@shivani63059 ай бұрын
@quenky1I apologise in advance for stepping in without you asking me anything directly. But as I understood it, what the original commentator meant was that today, if you ask someone in India if they know about shaheed Bhagat Singh ji or respect him, they would most likely say yes. But only few people would know about his ideals and his philosophical ideas which were underlined very well by Mr. Muzammil in this video. Like he said, "merciless criticism and independent thinking are necessary traits for a revolutionary" and that no one is infallible, no matter how much they are loved by the masses. If you see the situation in India today, even slight criticism of government irks majority of the people supporting it. They straightup label those having a different opinion as anti national or communist. So, "respecting" Bhagat Singh ji as a freedom fighter on a somewhat shallow level is different from respecting him in true sense by following his philosophical ideas. Yes, you can very well have a different political ideology but if you say that labelling people, name calling and wanting to hear only good things about the government is a part of your political ideology, I will perhaps have nothing more to say. Bhagat Singh ji might have been a socialist politically, but his philosophical beliefs are entirely a different matter which we all should respect if we want to respect him in true sense. So let's agree to disagree, but respectfully. Also, in my humble opinion, not labelling someone else's opinion as "nonsense" straightaway is crucial if you ACTUALLY want to have a civil and constructive discussion with them. Thanks.

Bhagat Singh's Last Letter to His Comrades: March 22, 1931 Comrades, The desire to live is natural. It is in me also. I do not want to conceal it. But it is conditional.I don't want to live as a prisoner or under restrictions. My name has become a symbol of Indian revolution, the ideal and the sacrifices of the revolutionary party have elevated me to a height beyond which I will never be able to rise if I live. Today people do not know my weaknesses. If I escape gallows those weaknesses will come before them and the symbol of revolution will get tarnished or perhaps it may vanish altogether.On the other hand, if I mount the gallows boldly and with a smile, that will aspire Indian mothers and they will aspire that their children should also become Bhagat Singh. Thus the number of persons ready to sacrifice their lives for the freedom of our country will increase enormously.It will then become impossible for Imperialism to face the tide of the revolution, and all their might and their satanic efforts will not be able to stop its onward march. Yes, one thing pricks me even today~ my heart nurtured some ambitions for doing something for humanity and for my country.I have not been able to fulfill even one thousandth part of those ambitions. If I live I might perhaps get a chance to fulfill them. If ever it came to my mind that I should not die, it came from this end only. I am proud of myself these days and I am anxiously waiting for the final test.I wish the day may come nearer soon. Your comrade,

No, I think the youths of Pakistan have become so much radicalised that it needs hundreds of Syed Muzammil to bring them back to the correct direction once again. I think even 10% of his viewers are not Pakistanis but we Indians. Still a lot of support and love to him from Rajasthan.🙏
