Quick Summary: #1 Psi Operative: Stasis and Void rift both do not end the turn. Perfect for action economy #2 Fortress immunizes against explosions. Everything but blazing pinions and lightning field is countered. Also provides great immunity against chryssalid poison. #3 Dont take psi ops in training on missions, there is a bug when they get injured you lose their trainings slot #4 Dominate lasts for an entire mission, but does not carry over area changes (i.e. chosen stronghold, waterworld final room). Can be broken by advent via stasis (even if you have a mind-shield) #5 Null lance completely ignores cover an can be even aimed through walls. Great tool to deal damage whilst staying safe. #6 In WotC, get both Steady Hands and Aim, then use Death From Above to Hunker Down, getting +30 Aim, which should add to +20 from Scope and another from Perception sims and be total overkill. #7 Specialist: Covering Fire, Ever Vigilant and Guardian can be devastating, especially if you get getting the next overwatch, use Threat assessment on-top of it for even more overwatch shots. Superior repeater works on each of the shots and can lead to massive damage with a single overwatch. #8 Shadowstrike actually works on the ranger sword attacks without concealment. If you are out of LOS you can sword strike and get the bonus. #9 Defense Turrets have squad sight. So if you run a reaper up to the beacon in a ufo mission you can have the turrets kill it from your base. Templars can swap positions with xcom turrets. #10 Bondmate level2+ move next to bondmate to counter mental effects (incl. mind control).

If I recall you once also cleared a daze from a soldier with your defense matrix tower in one of your campaigns. Towers = Sniper/Medics

I like the concept of psi-ops more than the execustion. What is the earliest date that psi-ops can theoretically be used in a team? I used to make it the very last thing I built on the avenger before I realized that anybody who survives to build the last room on avenger is basically doing victory laps.

In normal Xcom2, they are training for the end-game, the concept is to use them very late in the campaign and then they are super-units. Some people don't like that and I get it. Just stating that you could use them. Earliest without a rush is likely in October/November.

My Guardian Specialist has been a beast in my current campaign. Side note: I just defeated the Hunter Stronghold mission without using any consumables outside of one mimic beacon in the 2nd room I entered. That includes in the final chamber where my banish equipped Reaper killed the Hunter on the first action of my squad's turn, which left everyone else to destroy the sarcophagus. The Hunter came back with 12 hit points!! I only faced 2 regular advent troops when I entered the room too. Shortest Stronghold final room ever for me!
