They might also be fudging the timeline slightly as I believe that scene with Sylphy is either anime original or at the least is being used earlier than it should have been as there's still a two year time skip before the next arc. Sylphy looks more mature here but Rudy also has a growth spurt by the time the next season starts.

Glad to get Eris's thoughts and see that she is really sad to have to leave Rudy (her eyes were red from crying). Also the Zenith flashback with the whole family together shows how much Rudy actually bonded with his family, and it was emotional to see how much Zenith loves Rudy with that thought of his Mother spurring him to take that first step out of his depression. Great 1st season, can't wait for the OVA in March and hopefully an official season 2 announcement.

I like how the episode had everyone else moving forward while Rudeus was essentially standing/sitting still, and it took that one line from the likes of Zenith to get him back on his feet. He's not totally fine, but at least he literally woke up and took a step forward, hence the ep title. Very befitting. P.s. Roxy being hella smashed had me crying xDD 😆

I like how we got to see Rudy's past life, his parents did love him and wanted him to overcome his depression, but they didn't know what else to do. Past life Rudy just sunk further into depression and never got out of it. Rudy being able to live through this a second time, he's able to see both his past parents love, and his new parents. He has something and someone to confide in if he feels like he has no one.

Tell that to me in 9th grade when I had my gym period and the biggest heaviest dude in the class kicked a basketball out of his way and it headed directly at the left side of my face without me even seeing it come at me (He totally didn't mean it and apologized while laughing and the other kids who saw it laughed at it too but I can't blame them cause I would as well). I was that one kid in class who got the bottom end of the stick and got hurt in my gym class. They always that one kid in gym class if you know what I mean. It was like that basketball had its own mind and targeted me specifically bro. I was tough enough to not fall over but for a split second I didn't know where I was lmao. I was fine with the exception of a little nerve damage that came up later on but I used that as an excuse to get out of school that day so it all worked out in the end. I just had a mild concussion. Thought I heard that the studio plans on doing this series until they finish it. So lets pray that we get the next season as soon as possible but the best way possible at the same time. When the anime started the director, I think, mentioned that he wants to adapt the whole story just like they're doing with SAO and DanMachi. And since they've gone as far as making a new studio just for Mushoku Tensei, I'd say it's safe to assume we'll get the whole story of this. It's only a matter of waiting for each season.

Guys! I really loved your reactions to Mushoku Tensei. There just a few good reactors that really pay attention and can discuss the episodes like you. You also did say some very accurate things while speculating for future seasons and that's awesome imo. Thank you for your great videos! Hope to see you reacting to a second season (if there's gonna be one) and the OVA on March :) One last thing, if I can say: imo reading the novels doesn't make you not enjoy the anime, in fact, I was even more hyped after reading the WN. So if one of you are interested I think it would be a great thing. Maybe 1 novel reader and 2 anime only, it would be very interesting imo. So, just to be sure that I get the timeline correctly: Rudy lived with his parents until he got sent to be Eris' teacher at the age of 7. I think it was mentioned somewhere that he is there a year already when Eris becomes 10, she is 2 years older than him I believe, meaning she was 9 when he arrived there. Then, 2 years after her 10th birthday he has his 10th birthday and on that day he wants to try out the new staff and get teleported away. When Roxy visits her parents they mention that Rudy was in their village two years ago, so at that time he is 12 (since they got teleported when he was 10) and Eris would be 14. When they sleep together Eris says she just got 15 and since she is 2 years older Rudy would be 13 at the end.

You are pretty much right. Essentially Rudy has been in Roa for about 2-3 years before the mana disaster and about another 3 years from then to now. It´s hard to pinpoint exactly how long it has been because Rudys birthday is later then Eris´ but for simplicitys sake I´d say it has been about 5 and a half years since he got send away from home. The after credits scene also suggests that they will go the same road as the manga and skip over volume 7 of the LN which in my opinion is a good thing for the sake of pacing. That means we will have a timeskip of about 2 years. Skipping over volume 7 really is not a big deal since it really doesn´t offer anything that can´t be explained when it´s relevant.

I think they didn't did that good of a job, in expressing eris's feelings.In light novel the scene was completely different, which made it easier to understand her character.In the novel unlike anime she was as sad as rudeus.And she was more dripped in the light novel. For those who want to know what exactly happened, the scene starts with ghislaine and eris waking on a snowy mountain when ghislaine her to to hold on a little longer, then she said was it right to leave rudeus behind, you love him don't you.And eris splendidly dodges the wuestion by saying "you've become quite talkative in my absence ghislaine".And the eris's monologue starts by saying that "she loves rudeus, she always has been since the childhood.And that love got even deeper when they got teleported.Then she realised that they both will go different way because of their goals, so eris didn't wanted that so she decided to have sex with him.She was flustered at first, but seeing that this time unlike last, rudeus was considerate of her feeling.She went ahead to have sex with him. But then she saw rudeus hand, and it struck her.That it has always been like this since the childhood, even though rudeus is younger and physically weaker than her.It has always been him who carries everybody's burden, when it should have been her.She starts crying, sitting next to rudeus.That scene made her ownself question, like what have she accomplised in those 6-7 years, and the recent years when they got teleported.Her family died, she wasn't able to do anything about that, and then she literally saw the one person she loves the most getting killed in front of her eyes.And all she could do is desperately cry while calling for help.And then she decided that once ghislaine told her there was a place where people go to master sword style fighting.Amd she decided to go there.She didn't said directly to rudeus because he is good with words and he wouldn't have let her go.So she wrote a short message saying if it's rudeus he will understand.Then she cut her hair symbolising that she will change, them she kissed rudeus for the last time, and left.And then she said tje next time we meet orsted i will make him run for his money" or along those lines. Now everyone understands rudeus's pain, because he is like a open book.But on the other hand eris is completely opposite she doesn't show her emotions, because that will show her weakness.But atleast rudeus can live with that fact that eris is alive and okay, and maybe they will meet in the future.But for eris, she literally saw rudeus die in front oh her which obviously left ptsd.So se have to make sure that, the next something like this were to happen, she can atleast protect her love.And she decided to sacrifice few years of her life to train, away from rudeus.Rather than losing rudeus for her entire life.

They say that fainting was non-canon anime addition and also it was blood loss, not magic, that caused it. He didn't master anything else because he had no sources for learning new techniques but his power grew (as well as precision of earth magic due to figurines) which is showcased in Orsted fight where he almost nuked entire mountain and also shot a railgun-like blast while gasping for air and being half-dead.

The drill stone magic he used on Orsted is a Emperor level while the Nuclear Fireball is God-tier power. It's not that Rudy didn't learn new magic, but he didn't have a chance and the opportunity to do it. Remember he lives with Eris' family for a while, then travel in Demon Continent after. King Magic and Emperor Magic often are very large area and large scale damage. Rudy didn't have chance to actually use these kinds of magic. When he was threaten in the city by the Horse-face, he was about to drown the whole city and at the times Rudy was about to use King/Emperor class magic.
