My favorite *Sylvain Luc* clip KZbin. Very sad to hear of his passing. Love your playing, maestro. Salute. 😞😞😞

Well ... I do NOT think that he's making fun of the two other guitarists (I don't think they mind his clowning, either ...) He just that has a great sense of humour, and he keeps in the background, to let them play virtuoso ;)

Totally agree. That's why I love the chemistry between Tommy Emmanuel and Martin Taylor : they're no competing but playing together and making beautiful music. Martin Taylor seems to get the best out of Tommy. Their playing together doesn't sound like machine-gun fire, the more notes, the better, which for me is not music, but sports.

NOTICE the versatility of Sylvain & Tommy. Here it is a bluegrass/ Gypsy. They can play any genre well. Check out Sylvain with Bireli Lagrene to see another side of his genius. Saw Tommy live, he is an entertainer!!

I think Sylvain Luc is pretty good. It's a shame he wasn't playing much. Tommy's hard to keep up with, but they are all outstanding musicians. They're jamming / playing together. They're not trying to out do each other. I enjoyed this clip a lot.

sylvain technically good. tommy also plays his bass and melody chet atkins style that sylvain doesnt. I like to listen to both, but when they get into this, sometimes it gets old. I prefer them separate.

@aakieaak It's Richard Smith. He's a fantastic player. I have some live footage of his Hot Club of Nashville group on my KZbin channel, in case you might be interested.

The jazz police have spoken. Thou shalt not have fun. Modern jazz is so up itself, like modern classical.

@rockerfou01 You dont have to agree, but I saw both live more than once & I personnaly spoke with Brian Gore (International Guitar Night organisator) who told me that the others guitarists on the show just couldn't stand his arrogant attitude.. & throw him out of the show...Also the same impression with at least 20 people in the audience... but you have right to your opinion...we just echange impression,...

Saw both live & prefer Tommy by far.. Sylvain Luc is an excellent guitarist, just amazing technic , one of the best ever saw, but take music as a competition been trown out of "International Guitar Night" because too arrogant with other musician.. Tommy is the great master turning music into magic & use it to touch people heart...doesn't need to PROVE all the time... Luc's music has no meaning, just perferct notes....Tommy's music make you vibrate..
