He was at comic con in San Diego the day before his son was found dead, and he didn't speak to anyone for a while. This post from him is the same day as his friend's passing and you can tell it hurts him but he's doing okay but, I'm sure he was inconsolable for days after his son.

Carl Weathers in the first Rocky was phenomenal. In the build up to the fight when he is dressed as Uncle Sam and he is pointing at Rocky and saying “You, I want YOU” and then he kids with Joe Frazier saying “You’re next Joe!” Awesome acting. RIP, Carl. Thanks for all the great memories!

I’m 70 years old and saw Rocky the first weekend it was in the theatre. Apollo Creed was such an amazing and powerful character and it was hard for me to decide which one I liked more,him or Rocky. I’m only 53. But I’m probably the biggest love of Rocky. I used to mimic the scene of “Adrian!” I accidentally watched Creed, I had to rewatch the guide on my T.V. to be sure I was seeing what Sylvester Stallone and Apollo Creed’s son. Carl was a beautiful person at first glance. Thank you both for sharing your talent in making a difference in billions of people’s lives. He was and always will be a beautiful memory that made everyone root for a sweet winner.

I told my 9yr old Carl Weathers passed and my suprise he actually cried. I only introduced him to Carl's movies about 2 years ago and in that short span I was surprised he had that much of an impact on my son same as for me in the 80's. Carl Weathers was one hell of an actor! I remember watching him in Rocky and thinking this guy has either boxed before or trains. Weird that just a week before he passed I said that my wife “I wonder where Apollo went. Haven’t seen him on any movies in a while. “. May be just coincidence but it seems like every time an actor or singer I haven’t seen or heard in a while just pops up in my thoughts, something ends up happening to them shortly after. So strange.

Loved the rocky movies cus of him and his great acting. Always cry when they play no easy way out in rocky 4. Loved predator because of his character. Loved Action Jackson.
