The few times when I have watched, as well as heard some fine sopranos in this particular repertoire, I have had to close my eyes & let my ears receive the total impression. Not so with this woman who in her too relatively brief international career was wonderful to see as well as hear. Also her recording of the 4th act TROVATORE aria is among the best IMO, especially the beautifully rendered recit. before the aria.

Absolutely wonderful. The sound quality in the live Covent Garden recording on this channel is not good enough to really assess the impact she made in the role. This one, however, is wonderfully restrained and prayerful without losing the underlying emotions. Worthy of mention with Callas, Caballe, Sutherland and Gruberova.... and way ahead of many others. Non somiglia per niente alla Callas secondo me. E' la voce di petto che forse la ricorda un po'. Per il resto la voce suona bella e molto agile, senza acuti sgradevoli o eccessivi. 🤩🌹🌹
